Has there ever been a time in your minecraft life where you just needed to let everyone know you were being attacked? How about to let everyone know that you were making a nuclear reactor, and everyone needed to go home...now.
Well, if you want to make noise about something, this is the mod for you.
Sirenmod is a mod that adds multiple sirens and alarm lights to minecraft providing a user to create large alarm nets, types, and much more. Now you can warn everyone when the gasts are coming! If you read this and didn't go straight to downloads, you get a cookie.
Downloads: Note: Do not use the website for anything other than downloading the files. It is under construction.
Does not require audiomod! Amazing! This is because I used paulscode in a special way so that you can play without it. Look in the How To Install area to see why.
or
Modloader
This mod specifically only uses modloader API and methods, so you can just use that as well.
How To Install (IMPORTANT):
Because im a new programmer and all, I haven't linked the mod to the forge mods folder yet (if you have a problem with that, take a look at that beta sign at the top of your screen).
Here's how to correctly install sirenmod.
- Open the file that you were given.
- Copy and past all .java files into your minecraft.jar (in appdata) - Get the folder specifically labled "Sirenmod" and put that in your minecraft.jar as well. - [Super Mega Important] Get the folder labeled "siren" and put that in */resources/newsound. It must be in newsound for this to work or you will have no sound.
Changelog:
V 1.0: Created Sirenmod
-Added Sirens (Standard, All Clear, Military Base Alarm, Nuclear)
-Added Lights (Standard, Bar)
Future Plans:
- Create lights that flash once with constant redstone stream
- Create lights that protrude from a block and look like real lights, not lights in blocks.
- Create a Bunker Creator Element
- Create a Light that can target entities (Not coming until I can make code work with a third party add on)
- If you have any ideas for future developments, please post them. I need more!

Alright, alright, I get it. You're being attacked by Ghasts and your friends using Flan's Mod all at the same time. You need a way to warn your fellow players and create that epic ambiance of Mid World War Two London like you've always dreamed. Well, here you go. An air raid siren made just for you.
Ok, so you won the war. What do you want? A star? No, you want a way to tell your slaves partners to get back to working. So, yes, Ive made just what you want (again). A siren to tell everyone that the war is won. (If you lost, you don't need this anymore). This siren specifically is a All Clear siren due to the length and pitch of the siren.
Alright, well now you're probbally complaining about how they snuck into your base during the air raid and you want me to fix that too. (Do I have to do everything for you?) This siren specifically sounds like a industrial/military base/pentagon of [insert your nation's name here]. This way, you will be very loudly alerted if someone tries to sneak into your base and gets too close, or you just want to warn all your fellows that someone has broken in and its time to sound the alarm.
So now you've killed all your invaders and are probbally working towards your next master evil (or good) plan. You're probbally making a nuclear reactor (definitely not an ic2 reference). So, when you fail, this is the alarm for you. It tells all your buddies loud and clear that they need to leave now. (Its the MW2 nuke alarm. If they have been a gamer for two hours of their life, they'll know what this means.)
So, you just blew up your base, but at least you have another one, right? And, just as you finished moving into your new base since you blew up the last one, you realize: This is not complete. You are right! It needs alarm lights! What underrated hollywood action movie didn't have lights at the cool military base! Well, now that dream of yours can come true. This light will flash with a redstone current so that everyone around can see that something isn't right even if their sound is off.
No, no, let me guess. You didn't like that light because it was too "mainstream". All you Bros out there want something retro and classic. Something from the past that would really strike fear into your enemy. Well, I have just the thing. A bar style light from something probbally stolen from Star Trek! This light acts the same as the previous light, you can just line them up for amazing bunker/base effects. (Try the floor or cieliing!)
Well, that's great globalwolf. You gave me all this stuff, but what the heck is that thor hammer thingy that you put up there? Well, that my friends, was a hammer. Chalk one up for the master drawings of myself in their ultimate realism prowess.
So, now that you have a hammer, you can make your very own metalstickythingy! That's right, if you hit iron long enough, all the subatomic partiles will change direction, causing a metalstickythingy (patent pending) to occour totally naturally!
Well, whoopdedo, I have a magnet metalstickythingy. Now I just need to magically make that play sounds. Well, no, you could just make a jukebox. But you all are too cheap to do that aren't you? Something about a diamond that doesn't just float your boat. Well, you can make a speaker instead. This item will allow you to make any siren you want for a fraction of the price. Now go count your pennies or something....
Problem Reporting:
If you have a major problem that you would like me to take a look at, please post here in the forums and I will get to you when I can. If there are any other modders/users out there who can also help people in need, i'd love to have some help. Please, READ other posts within the last day or so to make sure someone else hasn't already had your problem and fixed it.
What I need from You!:
-I would love to have someone make a video review/how to of this mod! I will feature it on this page in a heartbeat if it's quality.
-I would also love to have a banner! If you can make it, i'll put it up and give you credit.
-Any other meaningful user content, I will add and credit you. The more we can all work together to get this out there, the better.
Wow, I have been looking for a mod like this since forever. It will be perfect for when im on my server and I have a invasion thanks to someone flying over with flans mod since we have chat disabled.
John, you need to put the sirenmod folder in the minecraft.jar. It can't read the custom textures without that folder specifically in your minecraft.jar.
I am eventually going to make it where you can put everything in your mods folder without an issue, but this is how it works for now.
not working for me, this only distort the pumkin texture and the jack o lantern, but no new items, i did all on the "How to Install", i have Forge 4.0.0.217

sorry 4 my bad english
Ooook, so we have some work to do.
This seems like its a big problem on nearly every front, so let me just cover everything and see where you had an issue.
That version of forge should technically work since ive had testers confirm that it does work on that platform in 1.3.2.
So, first get those files that I gave you and put them in the minecraft.jar. Then get the folder specifically labeled "Sirenmod" and put that in that .jar as well. This is a jar with forge installed.
Now, do not put the folder labeled "siren" in there. You need to put that in the */resources/newsound folder.
The textures that I use should under no circumstances affect the standard terrain.png due to the fact that I never even go into the PNG or call the block id, so you must have done something wrong there. To further the issue, those are item textures. I have no idea how you even managed to get that to happen.
Did you follow everything that I said here to a T? Don't edit any base minecraft files that are already in place. Only use winrar to fix things such as that.

that was my impression of your mod....

Now i updated to forge 4.1.1.251, it seem to fix the punkin textures, but still no new items in game.
Everything is in the right place, all ".class" files in "minecraft.jar" also "Sirenmod" in it, "siren" folder > "resources/newsound"
I dont know what to do, maybe mods conflicting?
My mods (as seen on forge mod list menu):
Custom NPCS v0.8
TF2 Dispenser
TF2 Sentry
TF2 TeamAddon
TF2 Teleporter
UsefulFood 1.1
FML 3.0.196.366
mod_Sirenmod 1.0
At this point, I need to try to see what's wrong with your end of the mod to see if I can fix it.
I'll update you in about 24 hours. Make sure to follow the post so you know when I respond.
