shadw, would it be possible to implent a feature similar to the klein stars of EE2 to the soul shards?
when you hold a klein star in EE2 and press C (I believe) you get a message of how much EMC the klein star holds... would this also be possible for soul shards? when you hold a soul shard, when you press C that you get a message of how much souls the soul shard holds?
Hey shadwdrgn, I've been loving your Soul Shard mod in the FTB mod pack but I noticed that with non-vanilla mobs (like from Twilight Forest) it doesn't seem to function at all except in a few notable cases (the mobs seem to be pretty much copied-and-pasted from vanilla minecraft with minor changes like custom textures; these mobs are able to get their own unique soul shard [e.g. Hedge Maze Spider 999]). I was wondering if there is an easy way to change a config option so that you can select which mobs can get absorbed or perhaps if there is a way to add metadata to the new mobs so that they get absorbed (once I figure out how to get the Ice Cream Creepers mod to work with the pack I'm definately gonna need some of those spawners ).
When it doesn't work it just stays a normal Soul Shard 1000 after killing the Twilight Forest mobs and is still usable for absorbing Vanilla Mobs.
On a different note, there may be a bug with the order of Soul Shards on your hotbar: if you place an empty Soul Shard to the left of a partially-filled one, it will fill the empty one first (e.g. if you place an empty Soul Shard 1000 in slot #1, place a Skeleton 985 in slot #2, and kill a skeleton, your empty Soul Shard 1000 becomes a Skeleton 999 while the Skeleton 985 stays the same. It will continue decreasing whatever is the left-most shard).
I can see that decreasing the counter on the left-most one is a good way to prevent filling 2+ shards with one kill, but it might be good idea to have a check for if there is a Soul Shard of the same type on the hotbar (I luckily needed 2 skeleton spawners but accidently losing a good diamonds-worth of material because you reorganized your inventory while killing monsters could cause a lot of frustration!).
I posted a message in the FTB Mod Pack Bugs section and they said I should try to contact you about both issues; I couldn't find you there so I'm trying here! You might want to check out the thread but there have only been two replies.
Lastly, keep up the good work! Your mod is awesome and makes going out and hunting mobs fun!
Soul Shards - In FTB Magic World, soul shards will hold the Swarm Spiders when you kill them directly, but you will not get any bonus for destroying their spawner. Also, custom mobs like the kobold (little blue guy) don't work at all.

I have an encoding issue with ForgeIRC + Twitch.
Whenever I use Cyrillic symbols like

I can see them right on Twitch and IRC client, but wrong ingame - they appear as ÀÁÂÃÄÅ...äåæçèé symbols.
I believe there's a mess with UTF-8, CP1251 or other encoding, not sure. Please, can you fix this issue? I'd love to use your plugin, but can't because of this problem.
Just watched Episode 69 of Dire's server play, where you talked about upcoming changes to Soul Shards. Awesome to hear that Zombie Villagers and Wither Skeletons will be getting their own soul shard. But you haven't answered my question (or anyone else's) about whether or not Witches will be implemented.

I saw that vid too and on the surface it seems it might be easy to add a check in the code for those mobs as long as they have their own unique class file (Shadwdrgn actually dislikes how wither skeletons and zombie villagers share classes with skeletons and zombies respectively; that's why you can't get them as unique spawners and is why they are mixed from the spawners). Also, Direwolf20's vids are always a few days old so and Shadwdrgn might not have checked the thread since the 5th.
Got a bit of an issue with the soul shards (awesome mod btw!), my level five spawners don't seem to spawn when I'm not around despite being chunkloaded. They are both water based (blaze watercontact trap and skeleton water drop), is it possible that that has anything to do with it?
I'm having this exact problem. It seemed to work right last night when there was noone on the server but now doesn't seem to be working even though it is chunkloaded. Any help? It's a quicksand trap for blazes.
Edit: Just to confirm, it seems to work fine when there is noone on the server but as soon as other people are playing it stops working.

So, Soul Shards is a pretty awesome mod, though I haven't gotten far yet. That should change soon, now that I've found a handful more diamonds...
Anyhows, I was going to ask why it was only for hostile mobs, but then I realised that you can breed all the passive mobs (and automatically with a Railcraft Feed Station), so that would be totally redundant and rather OP. So yeah, hostile-only totally makes sense.

If you guys are both on servers that might also be the root cause of the problem, pretty sure there are options to have max players-chunks loaded.
Would have to check with the admins see if there is any sort of protection to stop the server crashing. Either way if it works when no one is on then the problem lies elsewhere.
Good Luck, or just simply set up your farms with plenty of storage space for when people are offline.

Make 2 separate chat keys instead of a key to cycle through IRC and in-game chat. You could just press one button to chat normally and one to chat to IRC. This is handy because sometimes when playing on servers, you're chatting to both the players on the server and people on IRC, and having to always switch around is a bit of a pain and is delayed sometimes.

Solved my own problem. Not sure why it happened Talking to both IRC and MC wasn't working. Switching it through Just IRC, just MC, and back to both seems to have solved my problem for now.

Also: Is recipe remover serverside only? if so, why does it say universal in the name?
I think I might have found a bug. When I spawn in a 5 tier soul shard and tag it to the blaze. When I put it in the soul cage it crashes my minecraft. If you need a bug report let me know. I also had others test this out. It does it in creative and survival modes. Thanks
