The Runescape Mod
Posted 03 September 2012 - 12:06 PM
As you may know from runescape, it has the following tiers of armour:
- Black (will not be added)
What I would like to see, is a mod that adds the ores:
Copper (more common than iron), tin (more common than iron), mithril (same rarity as redstone), adamant (rarity between lapis and diamond), and runite (rarer than diamond).
This mod makes the smelt results:
Raw Bronze mixture + heat -> Bronze Ingot
Iron ingot + heat -> Steel Ingot
Mithril ore + heat -> Unfinished Mithril 1/2
Unfinished Mithril + heat -> Mithril ingot
Adamant ore -> Unfinished Adamant 1/3
Unfinished Adamant 1/3 -> Unfinished Adamant 2/3
Unfinished Adamant 2/3 -> Adamant Ingot
Runite ore -> Unfinished Runite 1/4
Unfinished Runite 1/4 -> Unfinished runite 2/4
Unfinished runite 2/4 -> Unfinished Runite 3/4
Unfinished runite 3/4 -> Rune Ingot
As you can see, steel, mithril, adamant and runite need to be put into the oven more than once to create the finished ingot. Iron changes to steel when putting it in a furnace.
This mod adds the recipes:
Tin ore + Copper ore (any patern) -> Raw Bronze mixture
All other tool recipes will be all the same.
This mod edits:
The strength of iron armour and leather armour, nothing more.
Strength of tiers:
Leather only gives 2 armour slots
Wood, weakest known, low durability
Bronze, stronger than wood, can only mine coal and stone, has very high durability (1000) however. Armour gets 3 slots
Stone, can mine iron, lapis and below, low uses, same as before
Iron, armour strength decreased to 5 slots total, mine strength decreased to redstone, gold and anything below. Keeps the same ammount of uses
Steel, armour 6 slots, mine strength can get mithrill and diamonds. Has a bit more uses than iron.
Mithril, the *better* tier of gold (see below). Has 7 armour slots and can mine adamant. Doesn't last that long, though, only 200 uses.
Adamant, has 8.5 armour slots and can mine runite. Has a lot of uses (800).
Runite, has 11 (more than diamond) armour slots as defence, can mine obsidian and has hell a lot of uses (2500).
- all items can be enchanted, while mithril has potential of higher enchantments like gold does.
- ores NEVER spawn in groups, just like emerald. Only 1 appears in a spot.
- just like iron ore, fortune does NOT work.
I hope someone is willing to make this mod =).

There's a few mods out there, just go the released mods section of this forum, and type in runescape in the search bar.

Nice to see someone actually writing down their idea for a change.

Anyway, to get back to the real subject of the thread, I've searched some mods and none actually offered what I wanted, or were actually Minecraft 1.3.1 compatible (nor without forge), so the offer that's on the forum for now does not meet my desire.
If you guys like some challenge, I could request some challenge =).

I'd be willing to take a look at it later when I get home, shouldn't be impossible to do.
It would however be a great help, either to me or someone else who decides to do this, if you could make the textures for things, or at least figure out the RGB value of each of them, I can't for the love of me remember what color the ores were.

But for a start...:
Mithril: Dark blue, tending a bit to be purple
Adamant: Green to dark green
Rune: Shiny cyan to light-blue
