Hey guys. Has anyone else had issues in using Forge through Magic Launcher?

For one, Forge mods are incredibly difficult to install. How do you even create the zip? I've used the zip of the entire download file, and the zip of just the class files, and in both cases I get "no mods found." How can this be resolved?

Also, it take forever to open. I am the only one who has this problem?

Finally, compatibility with Modloader. I was told by a user on this forum that Forge can run Modloader mods, but I can't get that to work. Minecraft either crashes or never starts every time I load in a Modloader mod.

Is there anyone out there with some experience in this realm? I'd really appreciate some help.

Forge works fine for me in Magic Launcher. The "No Mods Found" is normal, Forge will know what to do with them and load them regardless.

What Magic Launcher basically does is temp. put things in the mods folder. Forge auto-detects, so it'll be fine, even if it says no mods detected.

Well it only half-way works...  Forge worked fine until I tried to load a Modloader mod (Which magic launcher). After that, it crashed every single time even after removing the Elemental Arrows mod and Advanced HUD.
So I tried abandoning Magic Launcher entirely, just as a test. Minecraft could not launch with Elemental Arrows in the mods folder or the coremods. I took it out and it worked fine. Put it back in and I can't get past Mojang screen.

So my issue really isn't Magic Launcher anymore. Is it physically possible to run a Modloader mod through Forge? I think not. Which sucks. Like osik. Why the kark did people go an invent TWO different mod loaders... which are incompatible?!?!

It doesn't matter if I'm using Magic Launcher or not, no Modloader mod has ever worked when I use Forge. I've yet to have a single problem for Modloader except in the multiplayer side, while Forge has been nothing but pain for me. Why do people think it's so good?

I apologize for my ranting. Both Forge and Modloader have awesome mods, and it really stinks that they can't be used at the same time. Can they? If so, what am I doing wrong?

I have tried using modloader and forge together and I always get crashes then when I take one or the other out it works just fine and apparently if you install modloader before forge it's supposed to work but I have tried that as well and it doesn't. I haven't tried modloader mods with forge yet but I was unsure on how to and until now I've never heard of Magic Launcher so I don't know anything about that.

I use Forge through Magic Launcher.  I have no issues with it launching 95% of the RML mods.  What mods are trying to run and how are you loading them (in what order, as internal mods or in the mods/ directory, etc)?

I have a problem similar to TechnoSam. I tried to install both Forge and Modloader, and I can get into the game fine, but after a few seconds in a world, my minecraft goes back to the title screen. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if so do you know how to fix it?

Do no install both Forge and ModLoader simultaneously.  Try using just Forge.

Thanks for the input Elusivehawk. Maybe I'll do some experimenting without the Elemental Arrows. I'm just not sure exactly where I will end up.

Also, my friend said that Forge was in the middle of a big update to fix compatibility with Modloader. Supposedly Minecraft will soon offer official mod support. Are either of these true?

Finally, Elusive, I wasn't able to figure out how to copy and paste the files as text. They want to stay files. Plus it'd be really complicated anyway, so here's my folder. https://www.dropbox....versal4.0.0.zip

I've tried this but it still doesn't work. Forge doesn't load them and they don't pop up when I go in game. I tried not using magic launcher but it just crashed mine craft. :/

Hey, havin' forge issues here too. No matter what forge build I choose, it pops with one error.
This wouldn't be an issue, if said error didn't completely crash my game. I've tried everything I can think of, and every time the game crashes and I get this:

Not a Forge issue.. a did not read all the instructions issue. :)  Tropicraft has a few more prerequisites.. RenderPlayerAPI and CoroAI.

Dunno what you did to tell you what you did wrong, but looks like you've mucked up your minecraft.jar.  It says you don't even have any mods in.  You'll have to force reload and try again..

Right, but I get the error no matter what with forge. Even with only forge in there, I get the error.
