Thank you, but my issue is that the collision between two particles does not occur in my linear particle accelerator. Is there anything in the actual mod that produces an effect when two particles collide? It is linear, meaning its one giant "line" of electromagnets and a particle accelerator at both ends. Does it have to be square to produce an effect? Should I rather make one giant square, but still with two particle accelerators ( both streams/beams of particles facing eachother).
And do the particle accelerators accelerate the particles when I, the player am over 100 blocks away from it? I'm getting some weird issues where I leave the accelerator on and antimatter is only creating antimatter (at a 1 matter:1 antimatter rate) when I'm near, usually when im more than 500 blocks or so away from the LHC it removes the matter and produces 1-4 antimatter. If it is possible, could you add some kind of collision to occur between particles that generate incredible amounts of energy if you havn't already? (For added realism, I have made a simple mod before but this type of ingenuity is far beyond my conception of modding, so I'm unaware of what scale this feature might be on and the degree of work it might entail, therefore I have the utmost respect for you)
Currently the accelerator only requires one accelerator block to start the acceleration of the particle and it needs to reach a certain speed and another particle will emit from the same accelerator to collide with it.
Okay, so now I have a very large particle collider (with sufficient electrical input: 3 nuclear fusion reactors) but when i try to accelerate the particle, it only gets to exactly 80% and no more. Could this be because of the diameter of the actual "tube" is so large? i.e could the distance between the particle accelerator and the connecting particle pathway be too far away to complete the acceleration somehow?
Shouldn't be. Approximately how big is it? What radius? I have yet to test really large ones, but the code should theoretically make it the bigger your collider, the more efficient.
Is it possible to add some kind of inventory to the reactors? so the builder could see how many fuel is left in the fusion reactor and reload it via buildcraft pipes?
your ic2 module has a rather major problem it spams the log with "Watt request per side: Infinity" i just had a look at my server trying to find out why it was acting laggy to fing 29gigs of my 30gig hd allowance is log file full of that !!!
i suggest removing the link from the site it may of actually cost our server our world (server will no longer start up with that world)
this is from the released one on the site NOT the one you sent me a link to on irc if that helps
Oops, forgot to remove a print line I think. As written, that module is very alpha.
I see how you're trying to be mysterious about how to get strange matter and I get that but to be honest I've seemed to try everything with these Particle Accelerators, I used the Instant LHC Builder and tried multiple Accelerators, over-powering them, under-powering them, putting different items inside them as particles, but nothing seems to work, if you don't want to post how to do it in public, I understand, but will you at least consider sending me a private message telling me how? Thank you, I love this mod, I hope you make it better and better!
As I said, it has something to do with particle accelerators and explosions near them. Big enough hint that got quiet a few people to find out about it hehe.
Hm, it seems that if I have two Accelerators facing each other emitting particles down a tube, nothing seems to be happening, I've tried having two particles going opposite directions in a ring but that doesn't seem to have any effect either, one Accelerator in a ring seems to only produce antimatter, I'm completely stumped on if or how there is any way to actually collide two particles and maybe create some strange matter. After looking at what tiny information exists about the Particle Accelerator section of this mod, all I keep seeing are the words "antimatter collision", I've tried manually placing a piece of antimatter in front of a moving particle, blowing an Accelerator up with antimatter, and placing antimatter where two particles would meet. I feel either my game is buggy, I'm doing this completely wrong and there is some easy/extremely precise thing you have to do, or this universe just hates me in every way Help?
As for now, the way you obtain antimatter is simply by placing an accelerator and making the particle spin to 100% velocity and it will generate antimatter. Later on, I might add the ability to smash the particle to make the mod more realistic.
Question about the turbines:
One small turbine generate ~40 Amps, 120 Volt, 4.8 Kilowatt (according to the multimeter), the output of a large turbine is nearly similar.
A large turbine requires 9 small turbines to build and the space of 9 small turbines.
So shouldn't had the large turbine have the output of at least 9 small turbines? I mean, why should i build a large one when i get much more power from 9 small?
I tried several reactor designs and always the design with small turbines win the output contest.
ermmm it should have a much larger output... Might be a code problem and I'll check it out.
Will you get mad if someone tells about the method of obtaining strange matter?
Nope I won't get mad, but I'd prefer you to not ruin the mystery for other people or you kinda ruin their fun of discovering how strange matter is obtained hehe...
Okay, so my new checklist on things I've done to try and get strange matter are the following:
Making an LHC out of fulmination generators.
Trying to detonate TNT with the particle.
Trying to stuff a working fulmination generator inside the actual collider ring that actually makes power.
None have worked so far... I'm running out of ideas
I have noticed, that the battery box can only be loaded till 3.99 MJ of 4 MJ. Also the Advanced battery Box of Electric Expansion.
This is a problem for the redstone signal which is showing when the box is full, the signal is not continuous, its blinking (While energie is transferred to the box, seem it reaches 4MJ and the go back to 3.99MJ).
So i suggest that you change the level when the output starts to 3.99MJ or make the box loadable to 4 MJ
I'm trying to build the particle accelerator, I've made a huge rectangle of electromagnets and the special glass on top, my accelerator begins accelerating and than stops at 40% and just restarts the process...
Why is this happening? My rectangle of electromagnets is big enough I tried making it way bigger and it went 10% more and than restarted. Any insight as to what's happening?
Could you make a particle accelerator with just a small loop for the particle to travel in? It will just take longer to reach 100% right?

This is due to energy loss. Battery boxes will slowly loose out its energy hence never be able to reach 100%

Why does it keep resetting?
If the size is not at least 30 block radius, it will never reach 100%

Another hint, try making the particle blow up.
Dont shoot your Active LHC with a bazzoka unless you got time to repair it.
(Still no strange matter)
A 5% chance of strange matter spawning?
I've noticed the same thing...
