Seriously, how can something so obvious and so needed go un-noticed on the suggestion board for so long? A Run Button. I think this is self-explanatory, but just incase you don't get it, I'll spell it out anyway:
The run button would be a certain key on the keyboard you would press to make your character go 1.5x faster than if you walked. It would be very useful if you needed to travel a great map distance in a short time, or if you needed to outrun a mob of enemies very quickly. It would cut down travel time by 1/3. Traveling would be a lot less boring, and a lot faster with a run button, allowing you to cram you a lot more events into your day, whether you're on Single or Multiplayer.
To be consistent with minecarts, running would only make you go 1.5x as fast as walking, instead of the 2.5x rate you get on a flat mincart track, or even more if this minecart track includes boosters or hills. In this way, minecarts would still be seen as superior. The running would only be a slight upgrade until you could get a sufficient rail system.
I think this suggestion has the ability to out-sell itself, so I'm going to let you decide from here. Do you think a run button is needed? I know it is. Leave your vote and comments here. :smile.gif:
on land, it shows how much stamina you have, it's where the oxygen bubbles are. when you run, the stamina bar slowly drains. when it's gone, you can't run, only walk. maybe on harder difficulties it goes down faster. after it's gone, it stays gone for a few seconds. then it starts coming back very slowly. you can run when it's still coming back, but only for about less than a second. in water, the oxygen bubbles take their usual place. and you can't run in water, so the oxygen can take its place.
I think whether or not it makes you tired should be up to the voters, not the OP. I'll add it to the poll, after my internet stops acting up (keeps going out every 2 minutes :sleep.gif:).

Seriously, did you search? It has been suggested numerous times. Can you run forever is the first question most responders ask?
