I separated Better Sprinting mod from my old topic with multiple mods - chylex's tweaks!

Description
Current sprinting system is buggy, people have problems with it, so I created a mod, that allows you to bind sprinting to a key! Great thing about it is, that it's compatible with most mods that change options, like Optifine! Only incompatibilities are with mods, that change behavior of player entity.

List of features
- Sprint (hold) key which allows you to sprint
- Sprint (toggle) key which when pressed, toggles between sprinting and walking
- Sneak (toggle) key which when pressed, toggles sneaking
- Sprint menu key to quickly access Better Sprinting settings ingame

- Option to turn on/off double tapping W
- Flying boost when sprinting while flying in creative mode*
- Option to enable or disable sprinting in all directions*

* Flying boost in survival mode (/fly, spectating games and such), and sprinting in all directions is disabled by default, but you can enable it on your server - visit the !! How to enable flying boost and/or sprinting in all directions on a server !! section below

How to install (playing w/ the current launcher)

Spoiler:

1. Open minecraft.jar in an archiving software (I suggest WinRAR)

   Windows:
   %APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin

   Linux:
   /home/yourname/.minecraft/bin

   Mac:
   ~/Library/Application Support/Minecraft/bin

2. Download mod and copy all files into minecraft.jar
3. Delete folder META-INF from minecraft.jar

How to install (playing w/ the new dev launcher)

Spoiler:

1. Open the .jar file located in the folder below in an archiving software (I suggest WinRAR)

   Windows:
   %APPDATA%\.minecraft\versions\<minecraft version>\

   Linux:
   /home/yourname/.minecraft/versions/<minecraft version>/

   Mac:
   ~/Library/Application Support/Minecraft/versions/<minecraft version>/

2. Download the mod and copy all the files into the jar file
3. Delete folder META-INF which is inside the jar file
4. MARK THE JAR FILE AS READ-ONLY!!! The new launcher will overwrite it otherwise, if you're using some other launcher, you should be fine.

!! How to enable flying boost and/or sprinting in all directions on a server !!

If you're a server admin, visit Better Sprinting - server settings website, and follow the steps, it shouldn't take any longer than a minute or two . If you're a player and want an admin to enable one of the Better Sprinting features on the server, there's nothing easier than telling him about the website .

Installing with other mods

Spoiler:

Most mods should be fine, though some of them might cause trouble or have special guide on how to install them! Each mod listed has version of Better Sprinting next to it, different versions might have different conditions.

Capecraft (1.4.7/newer)
Install both mods, and then a fix made by djmati11. Capecraft is available here.
1.5, v7: download fix
1.4.7, v7: download fix

Forge (1.4.7/newer, v7)
Since v7, Better Sprinting is fully compatible with Forge, so you can also use it in Forge based modpacks like FTB!

Forge (1.4.4/newer, v5)
Install Better Sprinting before Forge. Enabling/disabling double tapping w will not work though, but you can change this setting manually (read last paragraph or 'Description').

Single Player Commands (1.5/newer, v7)
Because of SPC authors refactoring the code, SPC and Better Sprinting became compatible!

Single Player Commands (1.2.5, v3 or older)
Install both mods, then open 'See spoiler for old versions and non-adfly links' and download the SPC fix, install that one the last.

Troubleshooting (how to make a report)

I've been getting many reports of a feature or the whole mod not working, but always with lacking information for me to understand what happened. Please, if you have any problems with the mod, you HAVE to include following information in your report:
- other mods you have installed, and in which order
- version of minecraft and version of Better Sprinting you downloaded
- crash report, if the game crashes/blackscreens
- which software you use to unzip the mod (I recommend WinRAR)

I have to assure you, that I'm using the mod all the time alongside Optifine, and every version goes through testing of each feature (and then redownloading it to make sure it was uploaded correctly), so if there is a problem, it's probably caused by incompatibility with other mod or wrong installation!

Really glad this is updated. What does "added possibility to double tap W back" mean though? Please make sure it's optional, part of the draw of re-binding the sprint key is being able to move tapping W without randomly sprinting...

Completely forgot about that reason! Sorry, I now added a new option in Controls menu, that allows you to switch if you want double tapping to be available . Reuploaded, same link (1.3.2, v4).

Did ya try clicking the yellow thing in the top right that says "Skip Ad"?  It appears roughly 5 seconds after the page loads, on my screen, bringing up a page with a green download button in the center.  Just tried it again, still works fine here..

This mod is conflicting with "ScrollableControls r4 1.3.2" (http://www.minecraft...4/page__st__100) It was unofficially updated by "Inofficially" to 1.3.2(http://www.mediafire...tyod8l9bz36e5o9).

What happens is that this mod stops the scrollbar from appearing in the options menu, so you can't scroll at all and the buttons become a mess once you have a few mods installed.

Well, what you can do is change the settings once and then install scrollable controls over better sprinting, you won't be able to save the sprint options anymore though, but if you set it to some controls that you're gonna use forever, I don't see a problem .
