Hello, this is a castle i've done in creative mode, with a little help from world edit and single player commands, it was done in a super flat mode, for maximun FPS, since i wanted to make a adventure map with it, but i gave up, if anyone wants the map to do somenthing with it, dont hesitate in asking me!
and this next pile of screenshots is made without the Jonh smith texture pack:
so what do you think? it looks better with or without the jonh smith texture pack?
UPDATE-
here is the map download for everyone who wants it... i haven't done much from what is already on the pics, and remenber, it was all built in superflat, to reduce lag, and to not be stopped by the height limit... do whatever you want with it, just send me a link for the adventure maps cuz i will want to play them lol
Nice castle so far, ans as XxPro219xX said, try some lighter shots, day shots for contrast and comparrison
the adventure map was suppose to be played at night, since it is a massive build and it's main color is grey/green, i didnt want the player to feel like the place is boring, even though it has all these buildings details. also i never use wood, i dont know, in minecraft wood doesnt fit anywhere in a megabuilds but floors.(for me, of course)
After you finsh this can you post a Download link PM me.
i can post one now if you want, i dont know if i will keep working on it, there is so much to do and i have little time. i'd rather give this to someone who really will work in it then let it dust out in a digital shelve

any possibility you could message me with the download link or send me it over skype or something? the map looks amazing i have an idea in mind of what i could use it for and i bet theres 100 more i could use it for. of course i would give all the credit to you so that you aren't getting ripped off of all your hard work
That is a lot of work to just give up on. I know how hard it can be to find motivation, but when you finish a large project like this, it will be worth it.
Yet, adding to what he stated, try not to get into the habbit of using one or two blocks on a larger build or those bits will seem rather dull. You have amazing capabilities to throw your creativity into block form, just put some block variation and it will be A++. Keep up the great work and keep us posted!
It looks really nice overall , put there are some areas (e.g. at the tower walls) that are too plain
and lack of detailing , its overall a bit to "cobblish".
I suggest using smooth brick instead of cobble and stone for contrasts .
Btw , you should really add colours . It looks very boring at the moment .
You could splatter a bit gravel over the roads for example and use more
colours in building .
thats exactly what i've been doing my friend, i've traded every the entire cobblestone streets for gravel and and trying to add a little bit more "green" to the places, as you probally know, a construction this size is hard to keep a varied architecture on at all times, i try my best though, only recently i've began building houses in another area of the town made out of sandstone (and its variations). i will have to post more images on the forums though.

oh, believe me, i know what you're talking about, and i can explain, in the end i was only interesting to see how the overall design and placement of the buildings would be, so i just rushed it all in with cobblestone, that is very related to my overall way of building castles, first i do a very boring, shallow and dull base of cobblestone, ussually consisted of some boxes on top of each other, then i add all the detail, meaning, the archways, windows, walls, and other things, the problem is, i was rushing so much before adding the detail, that when i noticed, the entire build was one or two colours! the green came last , and now im slowly trying to fix my mystakes, hope you understand =] and thank you for the feedback.
looks very good, i loved how you made all the placement of the walls and towers, but as someone has said before you need to have different materials, like wood on the town, and stone bricks or stone for wall supports, etc.Despite the fact that you didnt alternated between materials i think that this building is very promising and i hope to see more of you soon.
Keep up the good work!

I love this one
That was my favorite, too. The rain gives it a neat atmosphere.
