Someone made a Forge-compatible version for 1.5.1. Could it be for 1.5.2, please? I really enjoyed WorldEditCUI working flawlessly with WorldDownloader.

I'll look into that for an update to my 1.5.2 version. I've been pretty busy so while I update the code to the latest version I don't catch all of the new Minecraft features. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention.
I'm just waiting for the WDL v1.5.2 code is available to upgrade the port.

Good mod but it's sad that the not downloaded chunks are empty when you finished downloading the map. It could be good if some more chunks get added automatically when you start a game in the downloaded world.
After I put the files in the minecraft.jar I can't get past the "Done Loading" phase of loading minecraft. Any suggestions? This mod sounds great! Thanks
As a server owner, I have a lot of puzzles and hidden rooms in my spawn area, and some players have been going about it in one try and getting it all right. I suspect that they're either using Xray (although we have a jammer for it) or likely downloading the puzzles and putting them here. I also suspect some people are using it similarly to Xray to find ores etc.
I just want to know if there's ANYTHING I can do, so that people won't use this to their own advantage over other players. I understand the positive results for this mod and that people like to download and modify their builds. I don't, however, tolerate cheating of any kind, and would like a way to put a stop to it if possible. Thanks.

It's called telling the server to only send 3x3 chunks near the player, so it's harder to download the entire place
Putting a bloody killswitch for this mod would ruin the purpose for this mod.
How would I do that and what would be the effects on my players?
Set view-distance=3 in server.properties
The server would send less chunks, increasing the performance of your server, and it would be harder to download everything

This has been said many times WDL does not download anything it's a disk casheing plugin that writes the cashe to your harddrive. On our server to protect our Art, we upload our builds to Planetminecraft. The only way to protect your intelectual property is to publish it or turn your server off.

When I go to download the map, where I start the download at is just and empty chunk down about 30 blocks or so. In order for me to successfully download what I want, I have to be a few chunks away from it and circle it, almost like it only takes what's in my peripheral...

I tried to keep already this mod, mod worked fine, i can use saves locally, but trying "/seed" returns 0.....
(did as instructed, made a seed command in a muliplayer world)

This mod (the official download) does not work with Forge which you clearly have in your install. Please read the FAQ and reinstall without other conflicting mods.
