Hi, just need a little help here.

Everytime I try and login to minecraft I get Login Failed. I can make minecraft work by resetting my password but that only works until I logout and when I try to login again it gives me the same Login Failed message.
I even had to buy a new minecraft just to fix this issue before.

Can anyone help, please?

Just as a preliminary, where are you buying the game from?

Uhm lol, "where are you buying it from" as in the site/seller.

PS: Technically you are getting the files from Seattle, WA, in the USA

Don't you mean where DID I buy it from? And as I said, Minecraft.Net.

Also, PS, stop showing off big head. ;P

What I said was still technically correct, because I didn't say "where are you going to buy the game." What I said can be applied in past tense... even if it wasnt 100%, c'mon, still good enough for 99% of the people here.

OT; Considering the authentication server is currently running, and you have the real game, have you migrated any accounts or registered with Mojang?

EDIT: Lol, stop being a Grammar Nazi Posted Image

If it was in the past tense it should have been 'Where did you buy them from?'

OT: I have not migrated anything and what do you mean by registered with mojang?

Are you using the remember password feature of the launcher?

Eh, tiny mistake. *Shrugs shoulder*

Try entering the password each time instead of using the save password feature. If you can login once it should save it, but its a buggy game so who knows.

Check your email too, you may have to validate the purchase.

Already have. And just tried again and no, still got the Login Failed message.

Edit: And I validated the e-mail about a month ago. I'm not knew to minecraft. lol

It's probably working when you change your password because you're having to manually put your password in rather than using the save password feature.

Edit:  Nevermind.  Ninja'd.

Another troubleshooting question, can you log into the minecraft.net site?

EDIT: C'mon, be a Grammar Nazi to Pilb too!

And no. I've tried manually putting my password in even after trying that and resetting my computer and everything. And I'm running out of posts fast. lol

And not if I log out I cannot. At the moment I have not logged out. But if I was to log out and try and log in again it wouldn't let me. This has happened to me before remember. Posted Image

Edit: I think the amount of grammar fails rendered my brain useless.

Maybe your password is too long for the launcher or maybe you still have the old password saved in your lastlogin file :?

OR MAYBE... Someone has access to your account :o

I hate it when people dont read the original post... anyway, if you dont get this resolved by your 10 post limit, message me. I'm sure Pilb and notrodash would also be happy to help.

EDIT: Whoa wait, I realized this isn't in client support forum, so are you trying to play on the website or the launcher? There is a big difference, as this issue is known on the website version but not the downloadable version.

No, it's a small password but complicated, I type the password in and it still doesn't work and don't scare me like that. :/

Thanks. I have 2 more posts after this one... And as I said before, this problem happened in the past with another account.

Edit: Just because this is becoming a trend to leave an edit.

Edit Edit: Yes, I'm playing on the launcher.

You could try hitting up Marc Watson(the support guy), to see if it's a problem at their end.

He's @Marc_IRL on twitter.

Edit Edit: Yes, I'm playing on the launcher.

Its a trend 'cause double posts are against the forum rules. :/

I have never come across this issue in the launcher before, but solving it in the browser version was done by manually resetting your password through Mojang Support. It was an issue with passwords not being saved properly and entering them manually into the system saved them. If you are sure its not just your Internet connection, you should file a support claim here.

As mentioned above, you can talk to Marc. If you don't want to bother going through twitter or dont' have twitter, send him a message on the forums instead. Marc's Forum Account.

Before you file a complaint, heres a few random but potentially helpful things to do:
  • Download the launcher again, although the launcher hasn't changed since 1.8pre.
  • Delete the minecraft folder and try again. (Save worlds first)
  • Disable the save password feature entirely by unchecking it.

Okay, sent a tweet and am doing that contact form thingy right now.

It's annoying as I'm a builder for KOTS 3 and BTC's new map. I need to go into another room and rage because I'm probably going to have to waste more money buying another account.

Edit: Done before, done before, done before and just tried all that again. Nope, nothing, zip, nada.
