Invalid or Corrupt Jarfile

Since updating to 1.3.1, ive tried opeing my minecraft.jar folder to mod, and it shows up as a messge as so

invalid or corrupt jarfile

Please help

Wrong forum, brah. I think. However, the first thing you should do is delete your bin folder and re-download it. If it's saying that the .jar is invalid or corrupt, it might actually be.

I didnt saw that post but do what he said and delete your bin folder and update your minecraft via your launcher.

Sorry for the wrong forum, i figured since im modding it should go here. BUt would my texture packs be deleted if i delete my bin folder? if so i could just copy and paste it somewhere else then paste it back in the new file

Save games are stored in .minecraft\saves. Texture packs are stored in .minecraft\texturepacks. Deleting .minecraft/bin doesn't affect your saves or texture packs. Just don't delete your entire .minecraft folder and you'll be fine. Keeping backups never hurts, though.

now its saying my bin folders open in another program, when all thats open is firefox and my .minecraft folder

I don't know what to tell you, then. Close every application you have running, is all I can tell you. Make doubly sure that WinRar/7zip is closed (use Task Manager if you need to).

make sure minecraft isnt on, or restart your computer

no, he is doubleclicking the minecraft.jar file, opening it with JRE.  go get MCP.

I am having the same problem but with my craftbukkit server! Please help me too!
By run.bat file goes like this
