Warning - lot of screenshots.

Video now available, sorry for the sizing. And the music, just threw it together quickly.

Hello, I haven't posted much around here, so of course you may not know me. I've been working on this City for quite some time now, and i've got "Creators block" so to speak.

So i'd like to see what buildings you guys would like me to try and create or replicate. Give me some links providing pictures of some neat buildings (that can be made in minecraft, have to be somewhat realistic considering the blocks lol.) and I'll try and add most of them to my City. Once done I will post the city as a Map mod with all the buildings I've created, and your Username on the inside with credit given to you for the idea.

So far here is the city i've been able to muster up. I've added a lot of detail into my latest building (the twin buildings).

I've even customized my own texture pack so there are clear glass doors, Fluorescent lighting, Pavement, and the Redstone are the yellow lines.

Give me some ideas, and I'll see what I can do and i'f I replicate it i'll post it here and show the Username on the inside giving credit for the idea.

Here is the city so far.  (CLICK FOR LARGER PICS)
(edit - Added a new Apartment building, loaded with TV's, Stoves, fridges, porches, and a broken down elevator you have to use a ladder in :cobblestone:)

White Tower - All floors are the same, 1 main office, with 6 small offices.

I used MCedit for customizing the map itself so that I can get more height (64 wasn't enough, lol) Also used it to flatten the work area and to make the road ways. Everything else I work on in game, i like detail.

this is exactly why I play minecraft.
Beautiful.  :Skeleton:

As for suggestions:

to keep with your contemporary-city theme, how about a pillar-and-pod style tower like the CN Tower?

Outside of that, I'm working on some great russian buildings that might give some inspiration:

Russian history museum in red square
St. Basil's Cathedral also in Red square
Kazansky Cathedral in St. Petersburg
Peterhof fountain entrance
Moscow state university - tallest university building in the world

and lenin's tomb.. part of red square... but a fairly boring and trivial building for minecraft.

EDIT: In case you couldn't tell this is so far away from legit that you can't even see legit from here. Everything was done while flying around with infinite blocks.

Oo that last building looks like a fun project

Actually if you look carefully to the picture 4th from the bottom, you'll see a "CN Tower" lookalike in the back, its not that great, but its there :P

thanks for the pics

If you want a real challenge you could try recreating the Red Square in its entirety

What about a variation of the Empire State Building?

I didn't, I grabbed the entire land mass and dropped her a good 40 blocks, so now i have around 104 blocks high to build as oppose to 64

As for the Empire state building, I was wanting to build it with floors and offices, but shrinking it to scale with a 104 block limit makes it look a bit weird, lol. So the only way I could do that is if I built the Empire state building without actual floors.. which I may try and attempt
