Hello everyone. Seeing as how ModLoader isn't updated yet, I figured I would make a "base class edit" type of mod.

What this does is allow you to change:
  • Block selection color
  • Block selection opactity
  • Block selection size
You change the values in the Video Settings interface.

Spotlights:
Spoiler:

Download:
If you can download from AdFly, that would help me alot. Thanks.
Adfly: http://adf.ly/BVQck
Direct: https://dl.dropbox.c...ction Color.zip

Instructions:
  • Extract the ZIP file

  • Put the contents into your Minecraft.jar

  • Delete META-INF
If you wish for other features, please suggest them.

Changelog:
  • v1 - initial release
  • v2 - New GUI and outline size option with outline preview

Not bad :)
Now add a feature for a total block overlay. Like change the entire block color when selected :)

Block health bar option? Like as you begin to break the block, the color slowly grows darker and darker until it is broken at black.

Also would help if there was a separate menu for this so you could change the colors with the bar and have it appear in a sample box so you don't have to keep testing for the right color.

Did you ever see a video of an old version of Minecraft? The block selection had the block fade in and out. I'd like to see that if it's still possible with how Minecraft is now. Anyway, this is an awesome mod!
I don't see a signature here... Nope.

You mean it fades into the new selection and fades out of the old selection?

So if A represents the first selected block's outline opacity, and B represents the second block's outline opacity, it would do this:

Quote

A = 1.0, B = 0.0
A = 0.9, B = 0.1
A = 0.8, B = 0.2
A = 0.7, B = 0.3
A = 0.6, B = 0.4
A = 0.5, B = 0.5
A = 0.4, B = 0.6
A = 0.3, B = 0.7
A = 0.2, B = 0.8
A = 0.1, B = 0.9
A = 0.0, B = 1.0

Obviously the rate would be setup to animate within 1/2 a second.

In the next update, I will have: The options in a separate menu (with a sample color box), option saving, and line thickness adjustment.

Fantastic, I hope this will be made compatible with Optifine and other mods it might affect when Modloader is updated.

I'd also really love to see the feature to be able to light up the whole block when looking over it instead of just adding a frame around it.

In Minecraft, when you "hover" over a block, it gets a black outline. This mod lets you adjust that outline (color, opacity, etc)

The next update will be out today, I believe. If it isn't up in 30 minutes, it will have to be done in 7-8 hours because I have to work.

What's in the next update:
  • Saving your customization to options.txt
  • Seperate GUI for adjusting the actual options (accessible from video settings, then clicking a button)
  • Change the size of the outline
  • Display of the appearance of the outline on the interface
