Map Info
King Garv II: A hero to most, but a monster to a few who know his secret. Our beloved king is a necromancer. He holds in his possession the greatest army in the world; One which cannot die. Anyone who once knew his precious secret is now dead, and I am the last who knows the truth.
This is my only chance to kill him. He's currently overseeing construction of his new castle: Castle Whitestead. Now is my only chance to infiltrate his defenses and rid the world of him.
What makes The Journey Begins different from other maps? When you play through the map, you'll have many different choices in the path you take, similar to Dishonored, you can go the stealthy (Parkour) approach, or go in sword drawn (Combat). The assassination also features level design similar to what you would find in a game such as Dishonored.

This map is about 35-45 minutes long (depending on if you choose to hunt for journal entries).
Speaking of journal entries, the map has 4 of them, along with 3 lore books. Find them all? Comment on this topic with proof to be added to the hall of fame! To be added to the hall of fame, all you need to do is find all 4 journal entries, which are located in-between choices, and give proof (IE, a picture with all 4 in your inventory, or a video of you getting them all).

Download Links and instructions
Installing adventure maps is a simple thing to do.It varies slightly between mac and PC.
PC: The map will come to you as a .zip file. You will need winRAR or 7zip to unpack the file. Once unpacked, just put the folder into your saves file, which is located at (excuse me if I'm wrong, I use a mac now and haven't done this in a while)
Username/%appdata%/.roaming/.minecraft/saves
Macs: This is much simpler than PC, but you may need to use a terminal command. When you download this, It will automatically be unpacked as a folder. Now, just put it in the saves folder located at
Username/Library/applicationsupport/minecraft/saves
Is your username library not showing? Then apple did their job right. Changing the wrong stuff in the username library is easy to do, and can cause damage to your mac. To show the username/library, you use a simple command in terminal
Launch Terminal from Mac HD > Applications > Utilities.
From within Terminal type the following command and press Return:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Enter system administrator password if prompted and press Return:
Thanks to Adobe help for displaying that information!

Lore: 0% This is going to be my last part of the map.
Story: 0% again, 2nd last part.
Dungeons: 3/15 completed, with the fourth on the way!
Closing Notes
If you're confused about the viewer/download ratio, I had a previous topic to this map that achieved 700 downloads. I remade the topic due to the drastic alterations this map received in update 2.1
If you enjoyed the map, please comment with reviews, suggestions, and ideas for act II of the infiltration series! Thank you for playing the map, and I hope you enjoyed it!
Shameful bump because of the tidal wave of adventure maps just posted. I really think this map deserves just a bit more publicity, can you help with that by commenting on this topic?

Awsome Map Cant Wait For The next one ( Necromancer path please like u can choose to become one ......... maybe some mods could be included ) ................. Creature cats meow............. HOMIES UNITE ........ NOBS FOR LIFE I would have been on the wall of fame but i burned in lava ;(
We hit 1000 downloads! Thanks to everyone who supported the map, in both its earlier (really bad) stages and its new refined state! As promised, here are a few pictures of the development of act II (Note that everything in the pictures is incomplete).
The minor update is almost done, expect it in 1-2 days. Don't worry, the maps still perfectly playable without it! Also, I'm noticing that very few people are commenting on this topic. I got 260 downloads yesterday, out of which only 2 different people posted comments, bit of an odd ratio. If you enjoyed the map, please take a minute or two and post on this topic with reviews, suggestions, and ideas for act II!
I did a quick play through, and I would say your timing is about right. The first thing I noticed is that I spawned on the roof with random items in my inventory, but that wasn't a major problem so I kept going. Then I read the rules, and I thought that since it was the 1.3 version they could have been in a book, because I was struggling to remember what lapiz meant when I got to it. I followed the path, and I really liked the fact that you could make a choice, and that added a lot to the map, and was a nice bonus. Then when I got to the river I was starting to get a bit lost, and I got attacked by monsters which made it really annoying to try to find where I was going. Eventually I found the path, and did the parkour for the flint/steel. Then when I made my way to the castle I got in, and walked into the room with all the dispensers, and well... they were empty. That was a little bit of a let down. Then I tried to find where I was going from there, and I kept looking, and I couldn't figure it out. So I had to switch to creative, and break my way through, and I found the king. At which point I tried to find what path I was supposed to take, and I couldn't. Then I did the sewer parkour, and got a little lost there, but that was fine. I got to the credits, and I was starving. I didn't have any food, and I was only on normal so I feel bad for those on hard. I had to play creative so I didn't die from starvation, and I finished the map, and that was all nice. Overall the story was good, and the choices were good, but it needs to have some details fixed, and some clearer direction on where to go unless I'm just missing something obvious. I would rate it at around 7/10, because the storyline was good, and it wasn't too hard or too easy. That is if you weren't lost. Thanks for making it
Edit: rating changed it 7.5/10 because me getting lost was due to the fact that I forgot the rules.
I'm assuming that you took the combat path in the castle. When you walk up the stairs, there's a giant blob of clay near the blocked off path :/. And The dispensers not spawning things is a odd bug that varies between runs. All the dispensers are tested, and they all work. Maybe i just set off that room by accident while updating, I'll check!
Edit: Oh, and when you got to the river, there were glowstone pillars along the shore to guide you, and any other paths were blocked off, so there was really only one way you COULD go

Oh yeah... you can break clay. That's why I need the rules in a book, haha. The river was confusing, because some of the areas were only a one block area where you could leave. I would widen it so it's easier to notice. And I've been having problems with spawn eggs recently so that probably wasn't your fault.
Sorry man, I tried recording but I failed. No beds, my laggy computer, all the parkour... It just didn't work out

I played this map with my friend and we both really liked it. I really liked the choices that you had, and we tried both parkour and combat. The parkour wasn't too hard, but it wasn't too easy, so I liked that. The rules were fairly easy to remember, pink being lever, lapis parkour, and clay is breakable. Overall it was a really great map, good job!
Just did a 1.3 play on LAN with my brother(he loves assassins crap) but I loved this map you should try to make the next one 10x better because I would love to play it maybe you could build part 2 using Voxel modpack

-Fixed mobs not spawning at one point in the castles combat pathway (I set the pressure plate off while updating the map).
-Added two checkpoints with beds in case of death (you may set the time to night to use the checkpoints).
-Added a new lore book titled "Origin of T.C." Try and find it!
-Fixed a typo on a sign.
- Fixed you spawning with my items (I didn't destroy them all cuz i'm dumb).
I sent out a demo of act II to a few people, hope they do videos of it!
