Hi there,

If your reading this you probably know your way around MCEdit, and hopefully you are the one to be able to answer my questions and even help me out.

Let me explain what I am trying to achieve, and then please tell me if it is possible.

I have 2 worlds the first is generated in Minecraft using the world generator City-World, and is 5000 square blocks, the second is a flat world generated in Voltz. with all the normal ores found in Voltz and is also 5000

What I want to do is Cut off everything from sea level up on the City-World map and place it over the Voltz flat world, thus creating a world that has all the Voltz ores from sea level down and the cities and hills etc from the cityworld generated world from sea level up.

Is this possible as all my attempts have resulted in failure either crashing before the process is done or MCEdit replacing the chunks completely from the voltz world with normal Minecraft blocks eradicating all the Voltz ores

I would consider offering payment for this if it could be done for me.

Thank you.

All links are working for me at the time of posting this. They were working when the other person posted about it on the last page as well.
I don't think there's anywhere else to get it but I may be wrong. What happens or what message do you get when you try to go there. Try again and see if you have any settings that might be blocking the site in your firewall etc.

The good news is that this is quite possible to do. The bad news is you are probably doing it the wrong way. Posted Image  It reads like you are trying to do it all in one go. I'm not sure if you truly mean 5000 blocks or 5000 chunks but if it's crashing then it's obviously too big an area. 5000 chunks may be too big for anyone to handle. If it's blocks then it doesn't seem too heavy so you could try turning off recording undo. It should be an option at the top of the screen for MCEdit 0.1.7 and up, I don't think it's in 0.1.6 but you need 0.1.7 anyway..
The way I would do it is in regular sized equal sections - normal selections not chunk selections. In City-World, clear out everything under sea level that you don't want to transfer across and then select a section of a particular size (ideally from your new lowest layer and upwards). Only you can decided how big it should be horizontally, but don't go too big. Save that as a schematic using a numbering system. You could use a basic grid system of A1, A2 etc, then B1, B2 etc in your filenames. At this point you could delete those selected blocks so you know you've done them, that's up to you. Then select a same sized area next to it (or move the selection with the light grey Nudge button) and save that as a schematic. Repeat until the whole area is done. Then load your Voltz world and import each schematic and place them down in the order required.
There's no way of telling how many sections you will need to save or how big you can go with each selection. You might get away with cutting it into quarters (try that first), if it still crashes just reduce the selection further until your computer can handle it. Hopefully that will do the job for you, even if it takes a little time it will be worth it.
The only other things I can say are make sure you are using 0.1.7, as you have modded blocks installed, 0.1.6 isn't high enough for your needs. If you save the cleared out, empty 'underground' areas in your schematics make sure to turn off 'Copy Air' when you import them or you'll wipe out your Voltz underground. And lastly, make sure you do all of this on backups of both your worlds. Obvious, but some people don't.Posted Image

ADD: It's also worth noting that once completed, if you wander beyond the imported City-World area in Minecraft, using your combined world, the terrain generation will continue to use the Voltz settings, i.e. everything will be flat, because that's how the world was originally created.

Hey everyone. This my not be the correct place to ask this, but I was wondering, is there an MCEdit filter that lets you customize fireworks? For example, I'd like to be able to set the fuse of the firework to zero and possibly edit the colors. If there's anything like this, please let me know. Thank you. :)
