MInecraft.net is down for me, and my other friend.
I live in the US, He lives in Australia.
We both have macs, if that has anything to do with it, (but my other friend with Windows Vista said it wasn't working either) I just wanted to make sure it's not just us?

Our internet is just fine, we've only had these problems since the last update. When i open up minecraft.app it prompts me to log in my acc, and it tells me Cannot Connect to Minecraft.net

In my internet browser I went to minecraft.net and sure enough, i get 502 bad gateway.
I went to my local library and tried it on the public window xp computers and minecraft.net was down too..
I saw no posts on the forum about this problem, so I decided to make one.


Is it just me?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated..



EDIT: I just received an update on the game when i tried to log in again, and everything seems to be running good so far... I will keep you updated forum

I had this problem too. Just a while ago I got an update too and could log in. Minecraft.net works too. I read from the Word of Notch that they started upgrading the minecraft servers yesterday. Maybe it's the reason for this? I think so.

Seems it's still down for me. Tried to log on, but no dice. Hopefully Notch and the gang get the servers updated quickly.

Well, mine is working usually, but sometimes I can't log in. Weird. Maybe you should try logging in few times? And, by the way, my login takes pretty long time.

Notch said in Twitter that they couldn't get the upgrade ready today. I can still log in and play multiplayer. Login takes pretty long time and many tries (just now I had to try 12 times). Let's wait for tomorrow.

It's been the same for me, I can't seem to log into ANY of the servers! When I type in the ip it either says something about failed to identify username or just connection timed out or it just couldn't connect. and this is with like every server I try and join. Ugh!

I can log in and play SSP, but i cant connect to any of the servers i play on... So im sorta having the same problem.

Yeah, just calm your horses, guys. All the Minecraft servers are being worked on as they migrate so the system can handle all the people connecting/downloading as well as the few attacks on the servers.

TL;DR
Minecraft servers are down. They're working on fixing it. Patience is a virtue.

Edit: I really, really think Notch should put up a mirror for the Beta files... I'm stuck with the old *_01 release and can't connect to any servers - naturally - because of the outdated client... Anyone who talks to him should suggest it. He'd do it.

I was going to upgrade my Minecraft account to premium today, and was on the credit card page but when I refreched it came to a page that said "500 Servlet Exception". I went to isminecraftdown.net, and it said that minecraft.net was up. I really wanted to get into Minecraft Survival Multiplayer today but unfortunately I can't :S Hope this problem gets fixed.

Your problem sounds pretty annoying. Someone should suggest that mirror-thingie. Or maybe it will get fixed when they finish the migration? Let's hope the best. But of course you can play single player.

Ugh minecraft.net wont connect to my client. And has been like that for the past 2 hours. Wtf
