I put the saddle on the pig... Got on... My friend shoved him off the cliff... Pig died... I died... No achievement...
We tried again, except I didn't die this time... No achievement...
Yeah... That's long story short....
Any problem to this???

yeah...you have to survive the fall. easy way to do it:
Trap pick in a hole he can't jump out of
Put saddle on pig
3 have a friend dig down 4 blocks below the pig.
you ride pig
friend breaks blocks below pig.
achievement get!

This is the only achievement I haven't got. Took me two weeks to figure out why I couldn't make a saddle(derp!!!) an then 2more weeks to find a dungeon w/a saddle and now I got 10 saddles and can't get the pig to fly but thanks for the tip guys Now i get how to do it

It allowed to die and so are you. I punched my friend of a cliff and he died, so did the pig. He got the achievment. We both did it after update. Are you sure you didn't kill the pig then it went of the cliff in the dieing animation?

I still haven't got this achievement, tried about 10 times, each time i took damage, survived. but no achievement 
i did hear it was bugged but i thought it was fixed?

I have this achievement but the Nether Portal achievement is bugged for me apparently. I've created a Nether Portal in 3 different worlds now and that achievement still hasn't unlocked for me.

i did hear it was bugged but i thought it was fixed?I heard the same thing. I'm having the same bug. I trapped a pig with dirt and built a platform below. Next to the platform is a very deep hole I dug. The idea is you break the ground on top of you to make the pig fall to the platform, you then get on the pig and punch it off the edge of the platform to fall to it's death.
I've tried in split screen co-op, I've tried single player, I've tried different depths.
I can't get the achievment

Has the achievement already been unlocked by Player 1 in that world. There was a bug listed indicating that achievements were not available to be unlocked by the second, third, and fourth players (splitscreen) once Player 1 had unllocked it the first time. I thought they said they fixed it awhile back, but maybe not.

Also make sure the world hasn't been in Creative. Might seem too simple, but I know a lot of people that have had similar problems, and that fixed it for most of them.

I just did it on split screen co op a couple of days ago. I didn't die, pig did and The pig and I were shoved off. Also the other player doing the shoving, already had the achievement. So its not an update issue.

The world also gets disqualified from achievements if any of the Host Privileges have been used.
