How to find id's of mod items and blocks?

Does anyone know how to do this? I used to be able to see the item id in INVedit, but his newest version just shows a red X over the item if it's not in the list instead of showing the blue disk with it's id in the middle.

My recipe mod shows the item id (and complementary id) of the selected item in-game:

uh, i lov minekraft. its su cool, i mkae big building and i lov to drink doctor pepper because it is healthy i think?

Yellowapple: Not exactly, I was looking for the ID's of MOD items. Mine Gunners items in particular.

I think I'm doing something wrong but it keeps giving me the no mods are active error. Below is my config.txt. Could you please set it up right just so that the last mod works and then re post it? haha im a noob.

NVM I figured it out. I was right I am a noob. I put the text files in .minecraft/zombe instead of .minecraft/mods/zombe.
