  • The /tp command now allows teleporting to specified coordinates.
  • The syntax for this is /tp [target player] <x> <y> <z>.
  • The other functionality of the /tp command is still there.
Plenty of features in Minecraft are being improved as more and more snapshots are released...so why not one more addition to the /tp command?  The syntax for the /tp command could allow for multiple players to be teleported: /tp [target player(s)] <x> <x> <x>.

Example: /tp DragonBelow, Notch 1 2 3.

As you can see, each player is separated by a comma followed by a space.  This suggestion is simple, yet useful for a quick addition to the 1.3 update!

Syeonyx's wise addition to the suggestion:

You could build a system into it so that when someone enters this command, every player on the map receives an option to spawn to the entered coordinates. Each player would receive an indication as to who issued the command, who they want to teleport and where to, along with an option to opt out if they want.

The players could either enter "Yes" or "Y" and teleport to the intended location with every other willing participant, or type "No" or "N" to decline the option and continue with what they were doing.

It's a good idea, but I doubt it's something that is absolutely necessary. If everyone has access to the commands, there's no need for this as everyone can do it themselves. This however could also be used a griefing tool to teleport players to random parts of the map simultaneously.

There's bigger problems in a server if all of the players have access to the /tp command and its supposed to be "professional."  Anyway, yes I know it isn't so important but it would be nice to finally have.  Thanks for the support(?)

Presumably this would still work with any server waypoints that had been established so that every player could be teleported back to a waypoint rather than a set of coordinates?

Say for example, there was a waypoint called "Home" and was the point at which the main players house was. Entering the command:

/tp [playerA playerB playerC] Home

Each player would receive the message:

playerZ wants to teleport you to Home. Do you want to go there [Y/N]:

Maybe even have it delayed so that the teleport command doesn't go through until every player sent the request has replied with an answer. So:

playerA, playerB and playerC are going to Home.

I like this idea. Also, there should be a tp command, typed like this:
/tp [player A] [sight/location]. If you leave the 3rd parameter blank or set it to location, you will teleport to player A. However, if you set it to sight, you will teleport to the topside of the block player A is looking at.

Personally, I think that there should be a new feature with the syntax /tp [player] [locationName]

Mods can save locations through the syntax /set location [locationName]

And then mods can use the syntax to teleport to previously stored locations. Locations would be stored server-wide, so if a location is set, all can use the location, and the name cannot be reused until deset in the server properties.
