so i downloaded a texture pack that i really liked called sphax purebdcraft512x. Now whenever i launch minecraft it automatically crashes and says:

Minecraft has run out of memory.
This could be caused by a bug in the game or by the Java Virtual Machine not being allocated enough memory. If you are playing on a web browser, try downloading the game and playing it offline.
To prevent level corruption, the current game has quit.
We've tried to free up enough memory to go back to the main menu and back to playing, but this may not have worked. Please restart the game if you see this message again.

I'm stupid when it comes to things like this so i have no idea what to do please help me. Oh and minecraft will work for about 5 mins until it crashes with the normal texture pack.

Assuming you have minecraft.exe on you desktop, do this:

- Open notepad

-enter the following

java -xmx 2048M -xms 1024M -jar minecraft.exe

- Save as
- select desktop
- Change file type from .txt to "all files"
- name minecraft.bat
- save

Run the bat file and see what happens.

Your notebook it much too weak for a 512x texture pack. Every time the resolution of the pack doubles, the size quadruples. That takes up a ton of memory that you don't have.
Solution- Use a lower resolution.
