No longer are you trapped to the water and rails with your vechiles! Now glide through the skies in this... ugly, yet working mod! I've yet to figure out how to change the rendering around for the hang glider entity... if anyone has any tips please let me know- right now it looks like a square white box... no longer a high speed boat as well thanks to Hydroo!

Updated! Now when you crash you will be refunded 3 reinforced cloth and a couple sticks, but if you land in the water, or break the craft yourself you will get a fully functional glider!

Updated again! I finally got a semi decent model for the glider! It needs some texture work.. but I'm very slow with that- so until I get it a lot better you can at least fly around with something that resembles a glider a little more than a square cloud.

Bonesidian Tools + Arrow

Posted Image
Bonesidian pick axe! With the unholy power to break obsidian and redstone blocks! Not quite as good as diamond pick axes for everything else... but hey, at least Mr Diamond pick will still have a use and not be left in that chest covered in dust and cobwebs!

Posted Image
The most boring of the Bonesidian tools.. the shovel. What can I say about this guy? He's about the same as his diamond brother, minus the durability. I suppose we can't all be winners.

Posted Image
Now here is a great tool right here. The biggest advance in farming besides the tractor! Now you can enjoy finding seeds 60% of the time when tilling grass, and if you use right click you can receive up to 3 wheat from a single crop, or get your seeds back if it hasn't grown enough. If you order now, your Bonesidian hoe will also double as a weapon of mass animal slaughter! It deals 5 hearts of damage a swing!

Posted Image
The Bonesidian axe. This is a tool that gets the job done that you would expect from him. He will chop down logs or leaves with the incredible speed! He can even chop through stairs and a few other wood products with increased speed! Doubles as a self defense weapon, capable of chopping off 5 hearts of life off those pesky pigs that disturb your lumberjacking adventure.

Posted Image
Ever been attacked by a creeper and found that your puny hands were not strong enough to defeat him in a single blow?  Well those days are over my friend! With this Bonesidian sword you now have the power! Even skeletons will know fear once they have a taste of this unstoppable blade! Deals an overwhelming 10 hearts of damage per devastating slash!

Posted Image
And now, last but definitely not least, we have the Bonesidian arrow! This arrow is the most durable arrow you will find on the market! Most likely. Not only is it durable, but it also packs a real punch! It does an impresive 5 hearts of damage more than the standard arrow! And because of it's incredible durability, 60% of the arrows that hit an enemy will not be destroyed 100% of the time!

Think these tools are too powerful? Or perhaps not durable enough for your insane mining / killing / farming / lumberjacking needs? Don't worry! You can easily change the durability of all of the tools easily with included .props file! Open it up with any text editor, change the durability to the number you desire, and bam! The tools are now as fragile or indestructible as you desire!

Requires Modloader
Requires Tool Utils
Download 1.3.1 here (does not require 303's arrow mod)

Requires 303's arrow mod
Download New 1.3.1 + arrow here

Uses itemID's 691-697

PS Thanks to Shokah's Mods of which I stole and edited a lot of the tools code from.  ;)

Really nice for your first mod! Try to make it a bit better than diamond in both durability and strength, that would be cool due to the fact that obsidian is quite hard to farm.

Anyways, nice!

Err... Once you get a diamond pick you can easily farm A LOT of obsidian so it needs to be weaker than diamond...

I don't know about you, but there is no easy way to farm obsidian, unless you enjoy spending 30 or so seconds per a block. The way I look at it, if something takes longer to be taken apart by a particular tool, then it is a stronger material, and as such it should make a stronger tool. I would welcome having obsidian tools that are able to break stuff down quickly.
Ok, after thinking about it a bit longer, I see where you are coming from. Though I still would like a tool that makes breaking down obsidian less time intensive. Perhapse obsidian tools could be stronger (take apart obsidian in half of the time it takes with a diamond tool, but have fewer uses (like half the uses of a diamond pickaxe)?
It is not the weapon that makes the warrior, but the warrior that makes the weapon.

Ehm....Look at it this way:

1. You need a diamond pickaxe to get obsidian
2. It takes 15 seconds to mine.
3. It's rare.

So....I think this mob is great and should be better than diamond tools!

I agree that obsidian is very easy to farm once you have a diamond pickaxe and some buckets.
I was planning on making it different than diamond, not a straight upgrade. I'm thinking diamond breaking power (and increased breaking power on obsidian) but lower durability.  Then again I am also weighing in that getting bones does make these tools a little harder to get since it requires killing skeletons instead of just chopping trees.

Ok, What I'd like to see is:
Higher Durability
And/or Faster mining for Redstone and Obsidian, diamond level for everything else.

Faster wood chopping, leaf chopping, and overall wood products for the axe.

Diamond level shovel, since it's already fast.

Hoe = 80%+ chance of seeds (dunno how often you get seeds) when tilling grass. Maybe if used on on tree, instant growing for a good chunk of durability.

Sword stays diamond level, maybe change the sprite.

But, above all, do what you want.

Well. I personally think its strength/speed should be the same speed as Stone/Iron. However, i think the actual durability should be double diamond. Because you cant get obsidian WITHOUT a diamond pickaxe, and its a pretty tough material so its durability should be really long.

Well, I wouldn't mind having a obsidian sword that's more powerful then a diamond sword, because historically, a obsidian blade could cut clean through a horse's neck with one slash.  Little more resistance then room temperature butter.
Obsidian is very sharp when you make a bladed weapon with it.  Also great for arrowheads.  I could see a obsidian tip on a iron shod arrow, which could go through several foes if fired from a strong enough bow.  Best way of making said bow would be a bone and leather  bow, built something like this:
[]   :Spider:  :P
:Spider: {SMILIES_PATH}/feather.png]" title="-<->" />   :P
[]   :Spider:   :P
Or
:Spider:  :|:  :Skeleton:
:Spider:  []  :|:
:Spider:  :|:  :Skeleton:  For a composite bow
Where :Spider: is string wound with leather, {SMILIES_PATH}/feather.png]" title="-<->" /> is leather, and :Skeleton: is bone.
The leather wound with string would just be leather and string next to each other

This is REALLY cool. The sprites are amazing, and it adds a whole new use to a brand new item! Good job! Amazing first mod!
My suggestion for durability/strength is High strength (block breaking speed) but low durability (around iron maybe)

i reckon it should be SLIGHTLY weaker, but have a better durability (LASTS LONGER) because obsidian is really strong. you cant get obsidian with out a diamond pick anyways, so it still has to be useful in some way.
Sorry More creeps and weirdos, but my image is better :p

I really like the idea of composite bows and obsidian arrows and if I can figure out how to make different bows with increased damage I will try to update those in! I did up the damage of obsidian swords... perhaps a bit too much... then again horses still take multiple hits.

Bone armor would be awesome, and there is still lots of room for more bone tools! I'm probably just going to focus on the bone / obsidian tools and give them better functionality before working on anything else =)

And thanks to everyone who likes the mod!

First and only mod here that Ive not been able to get to work.. I get a black screen every time.

**edit**
Nevermind, I seem to have been somehow been trying to use the wrong version of modloader even though I took the file right out of the downloaded file.. Or so I thought. This is the first mod I have used since the update, I dont like big huge game changing mods, this is right up my alley and is very nice.

Is your modloader and tool utils up to date? I'm using the mod right now just fine, Although it is possible with my latest update I put in something that requires shokah's minerals mod by mistake- pretty sure I didn't since I made the mod in an environment without shokah's mods.

edit: Just tried installing it with a fresh download of minecraft + modloader + toolutils and it worked fine for me- might be a conflict with some other mod you have installed? doesn't seem very likely since I don't have any classes that would overwrite anything, but I'm still new to java and modding MC, started both yesterday  :Coal:
