Hello, and welcome to my tutorial showing you how to make a simpel but nice, modern house.
I will use stone bricks instead of normal bricks because i think it's nicer.
For the ones interested : I made my own house.

Also check out my next tutorial off a small house that only needs 64 wood : http://www.minecraft...s-and-pictures/

So let's start!

First make a 12x12 square. ( The inside has to be 10x10) Also fill it with wood as floor.

Posted Image

Now do the same thing, but leave space for the 2 doors.

Posted Image

Make another layer, but now look carefully were i did put the glass.

Posted Image

Yup, just another layer. But look what i did with the glass left of the sign.

Posted Image

Now just put wood as ceiling, and make a staircase.

Posted Image

It's hard to see. Here's another picture viewed from the front door :

Posted Image

Now the second floor. Isn't this going fast?
Make the walls as i do, and place the doors.
(For the one's intrested : That little room on the left is my bedroom)

Posted Image

Again, new layer. With glass this time.

Posted Image

Aaaaanother layer. Only stone bricks.

Posted Image

Now i made a staircase to the loft. Not needed, but i've made it.

Posted Image

Now we are starting with the roof. Put stone brick stairs only on the front and back.

Posted Image

And again :

And again :

Posted Image

Just go on untill the roof is finished.

Posted Image

Now you have a loft. Use fences to safety. (Safety before danger!)

Posted Image

Now the house is done! Or well... the outside then. I've also put furniture inside the house, but it's your choice to follow it or style it yourself. If you want to use the same furniture as me :

I also made a little toilet next to the entrance of the house. Toilet :

Well, I hope you enjoy it and have a nice house now.

Please comment and say what you think about it.
Also I would like to have tips, what can be better, what is wrong etc. I plan to make more of these tutorials.

Sorry for grammatical mistakes if there are. Im just a Hollander.

The tutorial itself is well formatted, but i dont think your house is that great.
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.Like seriously, what the hell are u meant to do there?

its a solid colored box w/ no overhangs and no shape to it whatsoever. The tutorial was very well done and it was very clear and easy to follow.

The interior is extremely sloppy and the lack of other materials makes it a very unpleasant house for what it is worth.

Points of interest-
Accent Materials to brick, like Sandstone/Netherbrick/Logs (In some particular cases.)
I also was very disappointed in the shape and lack of unique archiecture that makes it stand out.
Work on hiding levers or redstone for making the place look cleaner.
It's also very cramped for being modern.

Overall I give this house a 2/10, needs a lot more work.

What man is a man who does not make the world better?

The idea is good, but the end product is boxy and plain. Try mixing up the blocks, you are halfway to a good house, all my houses have 1 room, I haven't quite mastered putting rooms onto a house without it looking like the house has a tumor.

BIG RED THINGS GET ATTENTION!

To make a house look good, u need the 2 most ingredients. Depth and detail. That tutorial didn't include any of that.

It looks very plain and boring. Try uſing ſome ſmoother textured blocks like Hardened Clay. And also uſe light grey ſtained glaſs ſince normal glaſs looks very bad.

You alſo need more form and a better roof. Uſing only one or two blocks for the entire building makes it look bad.
