From what I've read, I have high hopes for for the service. At the moment, I'm a bit frustrated with what is promised compared to what has been delivered. I'm fairly patient but my expectations for FPS Box has been raised after reading all 13 pages thus far.

*I only placed my order 12 hours ago at the time of this post, I am going by what has been advertised to me.*

I understand you guys are setting up new server clusters on a fairly regular basis due to demand, but I have had "instant Setup" claims that have taken up to about 30 minutes, and I am aware setting a server block takes a little bit of time. I did place my order close to midnight EST as well so I was being mildly patient in that regard. I was, however, expecting at least some sort of response to a pre-sale ticket response to something I submitted at 5:30 PM yesterday by 10 AM EST this morning. I was hopeful as well that my server my be up by 10 AM as well. This claim of "Instant Setup" and "24/7 Support" is somewhat disappointing thus far. I am still willing to use you as a host if these issues get resolved in a timely fashion based on the services you offer, as well as the numerous and great reviews I have seen in this thread.

I want to give you a half-response as to why they could be a bit slow, as I am not a representative of FPSBox and I don't know fully why.

(1. FPSBox is growing at a phenomenal rate. They are one of the cheapest but highest quality hosts on these forums - nothing against the other ones.
(1.5. They are very busy, and may be running a bit short on Support staff as more and more tickets are opened. I know for a fact that they are hiring more Support staff pretty much as we speak here.

(2. It's fully possible that the software has bugs. It happens.

They are an extremely good company and I hope you stay with them. No, I am not paid to do this. These are very honest reviews and answers that I write from my personal experiences with my Tekkit server that FPSBox provides.

For 2-5 people, 1GB should do perfectly fine. Could very possibly get a couple more on as well.

So should i go 512mb instead?

For Tekkit or Feed The Beast, get the 1GB plan just to be on the safe side.

Im just wondering why the main website, my control panel and also the portal are all offline?  And how much longer will we have to wait to access our servers control panel?

I've been wondering the same thing. I sent a PM to Dasweb about it - this has never happened before.

Hi there, I live in the Australia/New Zealand area, and was wondering what the performance of the servers would be if i played it from home, in terms of connection and lag.

Thanks

That doesn't seem to work... Is there something else I need to change on the control panel besides the JAR file?

Update:

4 Days  for them to open up a slot in NY/NJ for me from the date of purchase.
It is however up and running now, Ty.

2 Days  for them to refund a charge on my credit card that they had erroneously made.
(Funds have not been updated on my balance yet, but im sure it's in process.)

I have an average of -100 ms now compared to the server they gave me in Los Angelas,
so thats one improvement. Anyway, I hope they get back up to speed with their service.

My server's still running well. Wanted to send a quick update in the direction of the MC Forums.

Like I said in an earlier post, FPSBox is growing at a huge rate, and they may be running a little bit short on support staff. Give them a chance, though. They're run by responsible and professional people with many years of experience in the hosting business.

Just a personal recommendation after a bit of research into the subject.

What server would be best for my friend and I with a couple of mods? He's been bugging me about a server.
Edit: We are looking at the 512MB plan. Would that be enough for two players with a couple of mods?

What mods are you looking to install? Give me a list in this topic or PM me.

Hello, i have a question about your custom jars support. i'm interested in what has to be done to switch jars, as an example am i able to upload a feed the beast 1.4.2 jar over FTP and just launch it off the crontrol panel? or would i have to contact a customer support rep to have it set as the launch jar? and when the time comes the 1.4.6 FTB jar comes out would i be able to update it myself with no CSR help or would i have to submit a ticket and wait to have my launch jar updated?

And just to tag all my questions into one post, would i easily be able to switch between say, a bukkit jar and the feed the beast jar?

Ah, so plugins. Yes, 512MB should be more than enough.

This question is one I can answer, if you use an FTP client like file zilla you can switch the jars freely, by the default name when you first install the bukkit.jar on your server you would use that name and rename the jar that you just uploaded to that name.  I know it might be a little bit wrongly worded here but I hope you get the picture!  Anything else please pm me :)

Yes it "should" but anticheat pulls 300mb at least of ram because of what it does.  Nocheatplus is still high pulling a minimal of 250, if you must have the anticheat and lockette you would be alittle more benefited to go with the 1gb server even though it costs more it is just like insurance so your server isn't always crashing.

You upload the jarfile over FTP, yes. Upload it to the 'jar' folder.

Now, how do you enable that jar of yours? You input the jar file's name here...

On the JAR File line, input the exact name of the FTB jar. (This picture is just an example from my server to serve as a visual example.)

I hope I've helped you enough. Any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Setup is barely instant as claimed.. 3 hours so far and still no word about it (posted a ticket 2 hours ago).
Edit: I got the server information. Not instant but overall not too slow I guess.

I apologize for the delay in getting your server up and running. Everything should be working now and you should have got an email with the information. Check your junk or spam folders if you do not have this email from us.

Can you provide me with a ticket or order number so that I can look into it and make sure everything is good with your account?
