Playing Offline

I can't quite figure out how to play minecraft offline, everytime i try to click offline in the minecraft.exe program it says that I have not yet downloaded it, I was wondering how to download it.

Register or log in to remove.

You have to log in with a premium account.  Then the launcher will download the actual game, which you will then be able to play offline.
But you must play online once.

Not curse premium. I just mean a minecraft.net account that has been paid for.  LIke this

You have to pay for Minecraft...  there's a free version (Minecraft classic) you can play at minecraft.net
and there's supposed to be a demo mode coming out in one of the future releases (1.3?)

That demo is ancient, but it is free.

the website won't work, even tho i have java
