I had a good mob idea for a tough mob-the lava golem.

The lava golem is made mostly out of lava and some rock.  The lava golem is a slow moving foe found very rarely in deep caves were lava pools are big and rarely (although may come in a pack of 1-3) on the surface.  The lava golems are basically heavy-enforcement, and there attack is shooting a lava block like slower moving arrow projectile that spawns a lava block on impact to the ground (the same dynamic physics apply with lava here).  These foes rarely use that attack thankfully and usually just do a heavy-swing attack that sets you on fire and deals 5-7 dmg depending on difficulty. The swing also can break stone walls.  Lava golems, now aganst my hatred towards immunities, should obviously be immune to fire/lava due to them being well made out of lava.  Knockback on them is minor at most.  I would like any foe like this, some kind of harassment foe that keeps you from hiding behind corners!  The lava golem would have aroujd 20 hearts of health, so they arent that much harder to kill, but the fact they can set you on fire from afar makes them rather tough.  They would drop when they fall a puddle of lava, the award in killing them would be i dont know...

Dump water on them: Stone and Obsidian statue, with a Soulsand heart. Don't take out the soulsand, dump on some lava; LG's back for more to settle the score!

Maybe if you repeat this process enough times they fight for you instead of against you?  xD

A mob shooting a block and being able to destroy blocks?

That'd be way too hard to program and the suggestion is completely asinine.

What's the point of including something that will absolutely destroy you if you're unprepared, which is 80% of the time?

Also, wall of text.
I realized I was god when I tried praying and found I was talking to myself.

A mob that breaks blocks (solid stone, even) and spawns a huge danger zone of flames and severe damage is too dangerous to have randomly spawn above ground, and probably below ground under any but the most extreme conditions.

Put it in the nether, though, and I'm all for it. Would give you something to actually be afraid of.

Now that you say it, that sounds good.

But we still have to keep the turn-to-stone thing when you pour water over it if it isn't limited to the nether. Perhaps if there is lava near the Nether Portal, they'd spawn there?

EPIC, maybe it could drop a fire gem-ish thing that can be crafted into a fire sword (durability of a wooden sword)?  +1 :Diamond: for you   :D

If the fire-gem is able to be made into fire-swords, lighting them on fire is a must.
