2. Revived the conspiracy
3. Killed some of the conspiracy with eggs, but generated moar conspiracy in the process.

4. Paved the way to next gen griefing. I can imagine one of these aimed at an important building in SMP

I havent used those yet but could you make it so you flip a switch to do what you did, then another and they start shooting arrows??  Imagine the possibilities.

Honestly, why would you not have one of those in arrow form? Any invasion/griefer attack would be stopped then and there.
