You read the OP, right? That would do exactly the opposite of what they want.
What I gathered is that he doesn't want texture packs to change his skin, and some texture packs have a new skin that comes with it. It's named char, and it replaces your default skin.
No, (s)he wants to have no skin uploaded to minecraft.net so that texture packs can change the default skin.
oh, now I see. Then what you want to do is to go to minecraft.net, log in, and go to profile, and click "start by downloading the reference skin". You should get the default skin back.
Just upload the skin that you want your minecraft character to be (from the texture pack) to minecraft.net.
Mhm. If you want Steve's skin then just find it.
KAWAII MONSTER
If it's the player skin:
1. Delete the file.
2. Log onto Minecraft website and click "Profile"
3. Then, click "download the reference skin"
If Texture Pack:
1. Go to the folder "%AppData%"
2. Go to folder ".minecraft"
3. Go to folder "Textures" or "Texture Packs"
4. Delete the unwanted Texture pack
Hope that helps
On Minecraft 24/7!
your avatar says it all.
OT: Go to minecraft.net and change your skin. there are many skin editors.
Texture packs have to do wit hthe default steve skin. You can change that if you have no skin on your player but then again only you woudl see it
1.drag the char.png from .minecraft/bin/.minecraft/mob/char.png to desktop (twice maybe)
2.upload the char.png on the desktop
3. Delete desktop char.png
4.Enjoy! (Sorry, you have to do this every time after you close the launcher DX)
Getting this to work is a bit crazy and unpredictable XD, the easiest way is to just buy a separate premium account and just never upload any skin XD
Unfortunately the MC site doesn't have the option to remove the skin, and uploading the reference skin is the same as having an custom skin, since its "there". This has been asked for constantly, but I have no idea why this option has never been implimented. Hopefully Tobias, Leo or Kris (don't know who's in charge of the website development) can add a remove skin option for the profile page.
