- If you are follow eyes of ender in survival, ender pearls can really give you a speed boost. Throw the eye of ender, than throw the ender pearl in the same direction.
- Ender pearls can be used to quickly get you up to your fortress on top of a mountain. They can also get you down quickly without getting seriously hurt.
- You can throw ender pearls through 1x1 gaps which you cannot get through normally.
- In a parkour challenge, you can use an ender pearl to get across a challenging lake of lava. If you are making a parkour map, you can make challenges specifically designed for ender pearl precision - either the player automatically gets the pearls and must use them, or can complete side challenges to obtain one from each challenge, making a hard puzzle easier

I wanted to just take a moment and say how awesome ender pearls are. Here are some of their advantages:

They're quit useful for long distance travel, assuming you have armour with protection, I can throw a stack of ender pearls repeatedly and barely take damage.

Ender Pearls are just OP in multiplayer combat. :[

1. Looking awesome. Have you ever just stared into an ender pearl? I bet you haven't. It's awesome. 2. When your being attacked and you don't wanna lose your stuff/ experience, just throw it a short distance your safe.

No, it would teleport you to where the ended pearl is shot. It would be good for instantaneous travel.
There's no way for the game to know who to teleport. Dispensers are fired from a redstone current, which can be triggered by darn near everything.

This is great! Seeing as this is my first post, I didn't know what the reaction would be. You've given me a few more ideas, too.

You can also use it to escape creepers. Once, when a creeper was about to explode and all hope was lost, I through an enderpearl... the creeper missed me.
