This is a wonderful start, while there are a few other mods out there that have these exact items in them, I hope to see more from you. I guess this way you can get tin and copper with out having to have all that other stuff that comes with those mods.

Thanks, and that's exactly why I made this mod. Because I know there are many other mods that add these items/blocks, but they also come with a ton of other things. So this is for the players that only want the basics. It is mainly a vanilla enhancing mod.
I concur with DeadStorage, these mods are great if you don't want all of the extra features that come with IndustrialCraft, Redpower, etc. Additionally, it is a fantastic way to enhance your vanilla Minecraft experience if that is what you are looking for.Keep up the good work!
Wow. Nice job, looks pro. It's clean, no grammar mistakes can be easily seen, and everything has a place. Textures could use a little work though. I know it's hard to get a color between stone and iron for tin, but you're almost there. BTW, you've got a pm from me. Check it.

I've been wanting the Simple Ores mod since it seems like the best. It doesn't seem overpowered and isn't completely ugly like all the rest. However, I've been trying literally all day to get it to work, but it's conflicting with the Doggy Talents mod. These are basically the only 2 mods I even use and they're apparently using the same itemIDs. I've tried installing about 4 or 5 other mods just to get it to change the IDs but I've been unsuccessful every time. I'm at the point of frustration now. Is there a simpler way of changing the itemIDs to something else? Any help would be appreciated.

This should be an addon to IC2 or Tekkit
Maybe you should contact The person/people who made IC2
I am talking about The more ores mod
Thanks, but I bet if the creator of IC2 or Tekkit wanted these type of items and blocks in their mod they probably would have done so already, and I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem making them themselves, though that would be pretty cool.
your ores mod looks like the closest to exactly what I want. Metallurgy looks good but is not currently for 1.2.5 (1.3 is on the cards apparently - hopefully) I dont like most of the other mods that add pewpewite supercalafragalistick-ite etc. Personally I would rather see bronze as better than iron and silver worse than gold (maybe slightly better as gold is pretty pap).
Also mo creatures has the werewolf mob which is particularly susceptible to gold weapons. With silver added this property could possibly be added to silver weapons ?
Apart from those personal perferences/opinions which I dont expect anyone to agree with, excellent mod, I will try this out and give some feedback when Ive played with it.
Thanks, I made this mod because it was realistic and they were very common ores. I agree on the mods that add all of the random names for ores and add "ite" on the end. I like not adding too many ores, but adding the common and realistic ones. Next, isn't iron stronger than bronze (I will use Runescape as a referrence to this)? I have also researched it a bit and what I find is iron is better than bronze. Also, I debated to myself about silver's properties, but I decided on making it better than steel, but worse than diamond. Because if I made it worse than gold, it would be fairly worthless, but if I made it better than gold, that wouldn't make sense. So I decided on doing what I did with it. I was also thinking of making gold better than silver, but worse than diamond, sort of like how some games do it (Like Terraria), but I would have had to edit base files which would have possibly caused incompatibility issues with other mods and other issues. I have thought of making the gold part a separate mod, so we will see. Now, the thought of the Mo' Creatures werewolf has crossed my mind as well, but I believe this would be impossible to do unless I added this as another mod with the werewolf extension, or made OresPlus require Mo' Creatures to work, because my files wouldn't know where to find the werewolf mob without the Mo' Creature werewolf files.
Had a little play with this now, it is like mana from heaven finding more metal to mine than just iron without having fantasy/ridiculous ores.
My feedback after only a small amount of playtime is this -
Copper seems slightly less common than iron. (I will play more and coment further, there is not a lot in this but it seems to me that copper should be noticeably more common than iron).
Also i expected that copper to be more common the higher you are. I would hope (and will test) that one could find some copper in the extreme hills above sea level. (I wish the same were true for iron but as it stands having copper in there would make it worth mining in one or caving in one.
Tin seems a bit too common. I seem to find as much tin as copper and I would have thought it would be better to not "give away" as much tin as copper, thus limiting bronze (and mkaing my previous suggestion of bronze stronger than iron more valid ))))) ).
Also nice work on making the new metal armour (and presumable tools, I tested with bronze armour) enchantable.
Any chance there will be copper/bronze buckets ? Any chance that the silver in your mod will ever hurt the mo creatures werewolves the way that gold does ?
Also one last time, it seems to me that silver should make worse tools/armour/weapons than iron, definately than steel. Silver for me is like gold, soft and wont hold an edge. In dwarf fortress silver and gold make better blunt weapons than edged.
And finally (I know im taking the **** asking), any chance your new metals will ever be able to create the weapons from balkons weapons mod ?
Thanks for reading. Will update later with some feedback, no more suggestions or requests.
Well thank you, I am glad that you enjoy it.
Copper is more common than iron. Lets say it this way, there is a rarity level from 1 - 15. Diamonds are 1, iron is 10 and coal is 15. I made copper and tin both 12. So they are more common. Also, I made it so you can find copper and tin on levels 20-80, but they seem to stretch around 20 more levels, so you should be able to find them in mountains. I have actually seen them in mountains myself.
I have also thought of making buckets with my metals and alloys, but I figured that making them would defeat the purpose of iron buckets. Why make an iron bucket when you can save your higher metals and make a copper or tin bucket, right?
Also, I don't think it would be fair to the creator of Balkon's Weapons Mod if I copied his weapon ideas and added them to my mod.
Alright, well thank you for your feedback and suggestions again.
Just had a look through your recipes plus mod and noticed your chain crating recipe with iron bars. Just what I want. I like the other recipes too. Any chance we might see a bronze bar and bronze chainmail recipe (and copper and silver ) ?
Also I will apologise first before asking,
Im sorry.
Will this work in SMP on a server ? If not will it any ti......
sorry
thanks
Hmm, copper, tin, bronze, steel, silver and gold bars would be cool. As well as chain armors for them, thanks for the suggestion, it could be a possiblity.
Also, there's no need to apologise, you are the first to ask for a multiplayer version for any of my mods. I don't believe it would be hard at all to port them to SMP, though considering 1.3 is coming out in less than a week it would probably be pointless since SSP and SMP will be merged and have the same code.
Here you will find all of my mods. I am currently making more mods, so stay tuned as I update this thread with them.
