OscarB, one of the two founders, has smashed his PC monitor. He has found a relatively cheap replacement on the internet, but he needs help in order to afford it, simply help by donating. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Any donators will be mentioned in future releases and thanked heavily. You will also get your name on the official Sketchbook thread!
Mod Week has ended! In the end, we released 7 mods - we'll update the counter as soon as we can. You can still download all the mods made.
Stay updated with mod week, get the lastest here!
Here is the official review playlist!
What is Minecraft Modding Week?:
On our modding group official topic, here, we said that we wanted to bring you events. An event is what we are bringing you here. From 00:00 GMT on Sunday, (03.06.12) through until the following sunday at 00:00 (10.06.12) we will drive as many mods your way in the whole week as possible. What makes it better? Every mod is coded by us during the same week. We will not write a single line of code before the week starts. Our goal is to do two things - bring as many mods, and downloads in the week as possible. These figures will be displayed above this paragraph along with when they were last updated.
How do I rate mods?
In modding week we want to bring an average mod rating for each mod, so we can bring a winning mod. To give us a rating, tweet @iOscaaar with the name of the mod, your rating out of 100, and the hashtag #sketchbookmodweek. All ratings will be made into an average at the end of the week.
Can I submit mod ideas?
Of course you can! We will be trying to give you as many mods as possibles and ideas will come in handy when we are short on them! Private message OscarB or SJFW, or tweet them with your ideas, and you will be mentioned in the mod post.
Why count the mods and downloads?
We want to keep a record of how many mods we made and how many downloads we recieved, so we can try and beat that in future events!
How do I install your mods?
First, you need to download and install ModLoader and Forge. Then, download and unzip the mod(s) you want to install. Drag the contents of the folder 'classes' into /.minecraft /bin /minecraft.jar. Finally, delete META-INF inside /.minecraft /bin /minecraft.jar.
The Mods:
Description: This is a simple mod that adds a whole load of new slabs and stairs to the game, making the construction of houses far, far simpler. A list of these new blocks can be found in the READ ME file in the mod download.
Description: This mod adds five new types of coal to the game, these types of coal smelt different amount of items, ranging from the Red Coal, all the way to the Gem Coal. This mod adds depth to the smelting system, yet keeps the game realistic while the mod is not too overpowered.
Description: This mod adds stained glass to the game. It also adds clear glass, without the pixels, along with clear versions of the stained glass. A list of these blocks and crafting recipes can be found in the READ ME file in the mod download.
Description: This mod adds a use to End Stone, and a further incentive to make a trip to The End. All tools and armor have the same strength and durability as iron. Smelting and crafting recipes can be found in the READ ME file in the mod download.
Description: This mod adds glowing blocks to the game, so that you don't have to light up your room with glowstone or torches. All these blocks have the same light level as glowstone, and are crafted with the corresponding block surrounded by four Glowstone Dust - one either side and one above and below. Enjoy!
Description: This mod adds a GUI in the top right of your screen containing useful information, such as the amount of uses left on your tool. When you have a bow in your hand, an extra statistic will appear next to 'Uses left' called 'Arrows'.
I have a few ideas for mods you guys could do
EDIT: One idea
-----------------------------------------------------------CENSORED-------------------------------------------------------------
So, anyway, this is probably too much to do in one week, but I think it would make a nice mod. If you could use lots of icon values so less IDs are used, that'd be great. Also, if you don't do this in Modding Week, could you maybe do it some other time? I could help with textures so Bockwurst doesn't have to pull all the weight of them. Again, it's just an idea
Best wishes for modding week(I'll be following it)!
-Vleetonk.
I blanked out all the awesome suggestions, so that idea is concealed with us Thanks so much for all the suggestions, they're all amazing, and this is definitely something we will work on. Thanks, again!
Man, that idea is awesome! I'm pretty sure we will do this as a big mod, it is too large for mod week! Could you send it to me in a PM, and take it off here thanks !
So glad you guys'll be working on this! Seems like a pretty cool mod to me and hopefully won't use too many IDs. However, a Forge version would be nice.
I have an idea for a mod: pile-o-coal! put 3 coal in a row, and one coal above the middle coal, and you get a pile of coal! If you put 9 piles of coal in a 3x3 square, youll get a heap of coal! If you put 9 heaps of coal in a 3x3 square, youll get a mountain of coal! If you put 7 STONE in a U shape, put a piston in the center, and put a obsidian in the top center, youll get a compactor! Put water and a fire charge in, with a mountain of coal above, you will get a Super Coal! this coal smelts 2600 items, which is A TON, but with the price of 324 coal!
We have many events planned. Mod weeks will rarely be consecutive though, as in between we need time to make bigger mods, such as the one we have planned with you
you DO know, that lava buckets smelt 100 items, and the 32 items that magma coal smelts is a loss?
other than that, excelent! Does this work with IC2 iron furnaces and the 125% fuel effeciency?

Yea but you cant stack lava! now you can craft the lava with coal to have it lesser uses but srackable up to 64. so in a mine you can make this coal refill lava, make the coal, refill the lava and so on...
Just wondering, could I remove the class files for the beef, pork, chicken, and fish sandwiches and have the mod still work? Really all I want is the Jams, the Bread Slice, and the Jammy Breads
