Start minecraft and open a new world. Close that world, goto %appdata% in your startbar and find .minecraft. then there should be the bin and a few other files. remember to open minecraft fully and start a worldThat too what minecraftguy14 said.
minecraft.jar is no folder and you have a .minecraft folder with everything in it if you played the game at least one time. I sometimes wonder about peoples stupidity.
Yeah, I'm using Mineshafter and I'm new to the computer game. I bought it for Xbox but its SOOO much better on the computer.<333 Anyways, I accidentally deleted my first .minecraft folder not paying attention. So then I found out you can use mods on mineshafter. So I went in search of that folder and when it wasn't there I redownloaded the game, forced at least 3 updates, restarted my computer, forced more updates when it didn't work, reinstalled Minecraft again, and every time I reinstall it I get the .minecraft folder but it's empty. I don't NEED it to play on mineshafter, but I can't use any mods without it. Any ideas?
that 'minecraft.jar' thing is a folder. I'm new and even I know that, and I don't even have the d*** thing anymore! It's part of the contents along with the bin and others inside of the .minecraft folder. ^^

"There's no 'I' in 'Team'.
"Yeah. There's no 'U' either. So if I'm not on the team and you're not on the team then nobody is. The team sucks."
For gods sake! The minecraft.jar is NOT a folder, it is an assortion of .class files that contain the game. anything with an extension (e.g. minecraft.py, minecraft.ini, minecraft.jar etc etc) is not a folder, and can only be opened with an archiver.

Free + Crabs + Ability to trample/suffocate opponents in Cortex Command = Free Bombs.
This is in the wrong section. This needs to be moved. I absolutely detest people who put topics in the wrong section, even when it's ridiculously obvious that it is wrong. I think that the website should have a banner that blots out the screen, saying in large red letters that this is for modifications only, or something like that.

Minecraft.jar is not a folder it is a file in the .jar extension containing class files for minecraft that in which minecraft runs on (Look at post about minecraft.jar in page 1)
First off download the launcher for minecraft .exe open it up click on>options>force update>Login Then it should download the .minecraft folder for you (which includes the bin folder)
