How do i give myself a monster spawner using single player commands

item <ITEMCODE|ITEMNAME> [QUANTITY] [DAMAGE]

you cant edit the mob inside you need a different mod unless he changed it.

To give yourself a monster spawner, type /give 52. To change the mob in the spawner, type /spawner [mob ID]

All the above are overcomplicated.
Look at a block
Type /spawner creeper (for example)
The block you were looking at is now a creeper spawner.

by "look at a block" do you mean hold it in your hand or actually look at is when its placed? and the mob IDs are on the wiki right, just incase typing "creeper" doesn't work?


Hey... I just tried both you guys things and none worked. Says that "/spawner" isnt a proper command.

ive got minecraft 1.5.2, by the way... no mods, nothing..?
