You have to setup port forwarding on your router. How do you do that? That's different on each router.
_AndrewAlber made a guide for it: http://www.minecraft...rwarding-guide/
If the manufacturer is different you can also take a look at http://portforward.c...routerindex.htm (Thanks Snowbound)
It works all the same but it looks different on each router. Just make sure you fill in the following options.
Public port: 19132 (single port)
Private ip: Your device ip
Private port: 19132 (single port)
Protocol: UDP
Make sure you've filled it in correct or else it won't work.
To test this you need to start the game, go into your world and find a online portscanner and look if UDP port 19132 is open.
Step 2: Distibute your public server ip (server owner)
Share your public ip with your friends so they can join your server.
Client setup:
Android:
Snowbound updated patchtool. No more file editing! Change <ip address> with the public ip from your friend.
Usage: java -jar patchtool.jar -ip <ip address> patchtool.jar
iOS:
Download the script from my Cydia repo or from cydia.myrepospace.com/siris
Make sure you always close Minecraft PE also from the multitask bar!
This will only work when your game is decrypted. When you have bought the game it's encrypted. Follow the following steps to decrypt the game. Decrypting the appInstalling the decrypted app
To change the IP you still need to do some terminal commands.
su
"your password"
mp.patch 255.255.255.255
Now it should work, go check it out! Have FUN!
Darkfurry5 made a patcher for windows. Download it here
You have to copy you minecraftpe to the same directory as the patcher. Fill in the ip from your friend and patch! Sometimes it doesn't work. We need more time to fix it.
Now copy the file back to you iDevice.
For iOS users it is a bit difficult. We need mobile terminal and ldone. Install them with Cydia.
Start mobile terminal and follow the instructions.
$ su root
It asks for a password the default "alpine" if you have changed only you know the password.
$ ldone /var/mobile/Applications/*/minecraftpe.app/minecraftpe -s
$ chmod 755 /var/mobile/Applications/*/minecraftpe.app/minecraftpe
If everything is ok then you can play MCPE Online!
Problems:
If you have problems please describe the problem as best as you can and give more information about your hardware. Don't just say IT WON'T WORK

This is great. Let's hope someone from Mojang actually watches these forums. They seem to put in stuff that the community has asked for, at least they did with the desktop version.
I had installed it on my brother tablet, it's work!!
But now he can't play local wifi with my again

I'm not a modder but I got some knowledge of the iOS environment! I from Vietnam and I know English too! If you got any project need to be translate to Vietnamese, tell me! I'll help you!

That might be one of the downfalls. But why would you want to play local when you can play online. I can't wait for the iOS solution. Hopefully it doesn't require jailbreaking because I'm not gonna jailbreak my new iPod.

That's one of the problems with this approach. Just uninstall and then reinstall Minecraft PE to revert the mod. Alternatively, patch the DefaultServer.mod to return to the original state.

Because mine is iPad and my bro is android so just he can play online
We want to play together so hope mod for iOS come soon

I can't tell how to do that for each router. Search the manual for your router online it should be in there.
It works all the same but it looks different on each router. Just make sure you fill in the following options.
Public port: 19132 (single port)
Private ip: Your device ip
Private port: 19132 (single port)

Make sure you've filled it in correct or else it won't work.
To test this you need to start the game, go into your world and find a online portscanner and look if UDP port 19132 is open.
Step 2: Distibute your public server ip (server owner)
Android:
There is no easy solution to create a mod file for pockettool you have to edit it yourself.
Two different file's.
DefaultServer.mod: This is our default. You need it if you want to play over wifi again.
PublicServer.mod: I changed the ip to 127.0.0.1. You have to change it to your public ip.
If your ip is shorter then the default, make sure you fill in the rest with 00.
Send the PublicServer.mod to your friends and play some MCPE Online!
iOS:
We are working on a easy solution for iOS.
Client setup:
Android:
Install the mod file with pockettool and go to join game. If the server owner has the port forwarding setup right, it should show up.
iOS:
Sorry again we are working on it. It won't be long!

I dont understand what your trying to say
Does it work of IOS?
If so how?
Where do i access that router details?
"WE WANT ONLINE MULTIPLAYER IN THE NEXT UPDATE!!!1111ii!!i!111!"You already have online multiplayer, but you can't change the IP.
NOW WE CAN!
So everybody is asking how to make a MinecraftPE server. I'll try to explain.
What you need to know:
Step 1: Port Forwarding (server owner)
You have to setup port forwarding on your router. How do you do that? That's different on each router.

Like Andrew said: Let's hope Mojang see's this.
If they don't I hope they read Twitter
If you download and install the DefaultServer.mod from the OP you can play over Wifi again.
You'r FAST!

It doesn't seem to be a mod, more like an edit. The only editing app for files on iOS is iFile and that requires a jailbreak
You can host, and he can connect to you.
I call it a Easter Egg. It's already in there but it's hidden.
http://youtu.be/UuZ5Ukyj2V0
and is it like this 19132 to 19132
I think single port, and yes, it is like that.
Yup just single but if you tried range and the same ports it should also work.
I'll edit the OP

EDIT: Now in the latest release. Usage: java -jar patchtool.jar -ip <ip address>
