Im going to presume that this is for minecraft 1.2.5 as you have forestry 1.4.60, but you might want to say somewhere might not be clear to all.

Yes it is. Follow the link under the MFR plugin.

The tag on the thread says 1.2.5. If I can figure out how to edit the title I'll make that more clear.

The big feature of the next version, as requested by SmithOfDreams:

Posted Image

BetterFarming trees with Forestry! Do note the dirt/grass. These trees don't like Humus, and the arboretum will convert any Humus in its way into dirt.

The arboretum will accept each tree's respective seed as well as the product of that tree for planting. So I could put an orange seed or an orange. The trees still grow really slow just like when planted normally, so this really isn't an efficient way to farm logs.

There is more stuff in the works, but I'll post those when I have something working to show!

looking nice maybe you should make it so that it can handle the other vanilla saplings as well brich, jungle, oak, and pine? I know that sengir is adding it in but no eta. Maybe you could talk to him to see if it would be worth to do so.

I will look into it. I'm also trying to get the BetterFarming trees to not explode when planted on Humus.

Could you possibly make heavy water capsules for the Advanced Power Systems mod? Also, It would be nice having the different types of vanilla trees for the tree farm.
Runs Forthwind TF2 server. Makes textures. AMA about running game servers.

I suggested that aswell but sengir has actually got plans to add it in himself but no eta on that. denflions said he will look into it.

I've never used Advanced Power Systems, but I'll put this on my to-investigate list.

I've been working on polishing the next version up most of today, but after a few hours I got bored and decided to attempt something a little more fun...

I present: Biomass working in the refinery with BC 2 (SMP compatible, of course!).

Posted Image

Unfortunately... BC 2 is hardcoded to only accept one liquid ever. Normally this is oil, but I can override that and inject biomass in its place, as well as inject recipes into the refinery. I did make a quick patch in jbe that disables the 1-liquid-ever check, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to release that since I had to edit a BC class file.

I'll leave the non-patch version where it simply makes oil not work and makes biomass work instead as an option for those who might want it.

I spent a lot of time making every little thing configurable for this next release. I believe that no one can say what is "balanced" in a sandbox game. I want YOU to be able to change anything you want to fit how you want to play.

Here is the changelog for the upcoming version:

Quote

General:
New config file. Similar to the windows ini format.

pluginBuildcraft:
Milk can now be placed from a bucket into a tank regardless of if you have MineFactoryReloaded. (This option disables itself when MFR is installed, since MFR does this already)
Milk can be canned and capped in a Forestry Bottler.
Option added to replace Oil -> Fuel with Biomass -> Biofuel as the refinery function. (Disabled if BC3 is detected)
BC3 Support.

pluginForestry:
Liquid Peat can be canned and capped.
Liquid Peat by default now takes 4 peat to make 1 bucket, but the burn time has been increased by 4x.
Made all values related to Liquid Peat configurable.
Made an option to replace the Still biofuel recipe with a configurable one.

pluginMineFactoryReloaded:
Milk can be canned and capped in a Forestry Bottler.

pluginBetterFarming:
Oranges, Apples, Lemons, and Cocoa can be planted by the Forestry Arboretum. (seed or the fruit itself is accepted)
Oranges and Lemons can be squeezed into Citrus Juice. Can replace water in the Fermenter like Apple Juice for some bonus biomass.
Made all values related to Citrus Juice configurable.
Citrus Juice can be canned and capped.

Currently Known Bugs:

Bug:

Trying to open the Arboretum (or right clicking the logger) with bonemeal in your hand while it is planting a BetterFarming plant causes the Arboretum (or logger) to change into another Forestry machine.

Explanation:

BetterFarming does some very... archaic things with its bonemeal handling. I have a fix in mind for this.

This is a BetterFarming bug, I've alerted the author about it.

Bug:

BetterFarming plants won't grow on Humus.

Explanation:

This is hardcoded in BetterFarming. I'm working on a workaround for this.

Is that a valve pipe your using, Additional BC Items?

I don't know if SirSengir can or would want to help you make a BF Arboretum different to his own 'basic' arboretum. An upgrade like the rubber tree aboretum needing 4 rubber saplings, but instead needing 4 apples instead? Possably even changing the humus requirement to dirt at that level?

It's easy for me to have ideas, pity I'm not capable of doing more of the actual work myself.

Yes, that is a value pipe from Additional Buildcraft Objects. I absolutely love the things! The balance pipe and insertion pipe are also favorites of mine.

Edit: The Arboretum bug happens with or without Plugins For Forestry installed. It is purely a BetterFarming bug confirmed as of now. I've alerted iBlackShadow to the problem and suggested a way to fix it.

All I'm going to do with the BetterFarming plants and humus is take a page out of Sengir's book and "wrap" the BetterFarming plants in my own dummy plant that looks identical and is planted when the Arboretum finds a BetterFarming seed/fruit. This dummy plant will use my TreeGenerator and require humus.

Bah don't think that way. I didn't know anything about java a week ago.

Edit2: New feature time! I was going to stop adding new things and get the update out to you guys, but my girlfriend requested this one so I felt obligated to make it happen.

When she first told me what she wanted made I thought it sounded a bit dumb, but after I started coding it I realized the potential this thing could have!

I present to you all: The liquid vacuum tool!

Posted Image

What does it do you might ask? Well, it sucks liquid out of things (like this cow here) and puts it in any valid container found on your main hotbar.

Udder Milkage! *cough*
While we're dealing with milk and cows, do they have infinite milk or do they eat dirt to replenish like sheep?

Any chance for a CraftBukkit port? That would be grand :) Liquid peat sounds super useful.

That's a pity, though early EMC gathering can be a pain I don't see automilking as a viable EMC source myself.  As a fuel source however, fair enough.  I'd suggest an EMC<->IC2 power mod but I'm not sure that would be fair to either mod.

Just realised that mint should be a wheat farm not a tree farm.
Maybe we need the pickup side of the logger tweaked for fruit gathering and not chopping the trees. :)
Erm, and with the mint maybe a tweaked combine?
