I have been wanting Mojang to make it possible to get mob spawners in creative mode for quite some time...
(Just so you know, this is not talking about mob dispensers)
What this would add: (Idea 1)
The spawner block would be in the creative mode menu,
You would be able to edit them by right clicking them with nothing in your hand, you would be able to change what it spawns and add additional data (Eg. A zombie holding a sword or a skeleton wearing armor).
Alternate idea: (Idea 2)
There would be no GUI, to change it right click a spawner with a mob egg and it will change to that specific mob, to add additional data (Such as dyed sheep or zombies with swords) right click them with that item, eg: Right click a zombie spawner with a iron spowd to make it a zombie holding iron sword spawner.

I like the idea, but how about this:
You wouldn't even need to add a GUI. Just make the Spawner a placeable item, then have its spawn edited by right-clicking it with the Spawn Egg of choice - if Sheep were the selected spawn, maybe their color could be altered by right-clicking the Spawner with the dye of choice. This system is already sort of in place for sticking Silverfish in Cobble, Stone, and Stone Brick blocks, so I think this would be much easier to implement than the method you've suggested.

More right-clicking, each one would be accompanied by a message so the player can keep track:
Gunpowder on Creeper Spawner to toggle "Charged Mode"
Bow or Stone Sword on Spider Spawner to toggle "Jockey Mode" and "Wither Jockey Mode", respectively
Emerald on Zombie Spawner to toggle "Villager Mode"
Villagers have their own section:
Wheat - Farmer
Leather - Butcher
Iron Ingot - Blacksmith
Book - Librarian
Glowstone Dust - Priest
Gold Ingot - Generic Villager (optional, since they seem to be a placeholder or something)
If I've left anything out, use your imagination, it would follow the same vein of thought.

Not bad, but I think using blocks might lead to mishaps when the player attempts to place one of them. Perhaps, instead, a rose for Iron Golems (since they do drop those, and they can't be placed on spawners anyway), and a snowball for Snow Golems.
Also, I remembered a few mob variants, here are my ideas for them:
Hostile Wolves - Rotten Flesh or Bone (can't decide which is better) on a Wolf Spawner
Babies - Wheat for all mobs that have baby versions, even Ocelots and Wolves for simplicity's sake, except for Villagers since Wheat is already taken; they would use an Emerald.
Slimes and Magma Creams - cycle through their sizes with their respective drops.
Also, if you haven't added my name to the support list yet, by all means do so, this idea would be an excellent addition to the game.
EDIT: One last thing, looking at the original method it looks like I forgot the new feature for undead mobs carrying stuff. Well, the armor and weapon of choice could be toggled by, again, right-clicking the spawner with it (Enchantments would be included, if possible). Toggling one type of item "over" another (say, setting an Iron Chestplate when a Leather Tunic is already set to appear on them) will override the old setting. And right-clicking again with the item currently set will remove it, or in the case of Skeletons (normal and Wither), revert to their default weapon. Speaking of Skeletons, if Jockey Mode or Wither Jockey Mode is on for a Spider Spawner, this same method could be used on it to affect the riding Skeletons' equipment.
You could use them to make interesting mob arenas in multiplayer, I have done this with the use of MCEdit and sould sand, it turned out great! (Click here to download the .schematic)
You could make public exp and/or mob farms on multiplayer.
I would appreciate it if you tweeted this idea to Jeb (@jeb_) and/or Dinnerbone (@Dinnerbone), it would let them know that we want this.

Creative mode is ment to give you as much opportunity's as possible to be creative. In my opinion they should even add an end portal block in the creative mode. So yes, I agree.

Why not add every single block to creative?

This is my dream! thank you! finally someone with a good idea instead of a halfa**ed idea that is really bad and no one would like! i fully support this!

To be honset, I'm supporting this because I've never had luck in finding dungeons so I would just probably use the commands or TMI to switch to creative mode and grab a spawner and then build a dungeon for my survival world. Lol.
But still, this should be added because server admins and creative users should be able to place any kind of block that already naturally occurs in the world.

Why would someone say no? All it does it let people build what they want instead of using commands.

I have been wanting for Mojang to make it possible to get mob spawners in creative mode for quite some time.
Here are my thoughts of that it would be like :
They would be in the creative menu (Duh) No shit.
To change what they spawn and other options (Such as delay time,
how many it spawns, rage of where they spawn, etc.) you would right click them while you have nothing in your hand Fair Enough
They are ONLY avalible in creative mode but can still be found in survival It's not like Mojang will remove them from survival.
You could make your own dungeons I think we gathered that.
You could use them to make interesting mob arenas in multiplayer Yes.
So tell me what you think! It's a pretty good idea. I think that Mojang may add this eventually.
If you wish to support the idea than put the banner in your signature!

Your critical because you are a critic? Well im a critic and i critical hit you.
To the creator of this topic, why dont you try shooting spawn eggs out of dispensers? Coupled with tmi and a redstone system, its good to go. But im figuring you dont want a mod. Go get a cow dispenser
Support, but I belive its to messy to give options on spawn rate and range, but I support giving all different spawners in creative. at the moment I have to use toomanyitems to get spawners for my adventure maps.
And about using dispensers insted, they are great to use to, but got a few differenses, they have to be wired, and that means, it have to be somehov activated by the player, and they cant spawn mobs further away than on the spott.
spawners can be made to make mobs spawn from nowere, without activation, If you for example place them inside a wall.
There actually already is a mod like this. (though not in creative mode) You can right-click the spawners to change what they spawn and you can also mine them out and place them somewhere else.
There actually is a rule in the forum saying something like "there is a mod for that".
yes but mobs despawn and with mob spawners they create more of that mob automatically every few seconds and can be destroyed to stop them spawn eggs just make the mob and thats pretty mutch it....
