I'm probably a bit late noticing this but I haven't seen a topic about it before. Fences and wooden pressure plates can make basic scaffolding. It's not very practical but if you want something to look like it's in construction, problem solved.

Better than anything I would have come up with. I just place blocks randomly and hope I can still walk across.

I actually wondered what scaffolding would look like in Minecraft. I work around it at work and it got me thinking. I was thinking just blocks of dirt. I really didn't let my imagine go on it. But this. This is amazing. I'll definitely use this if I need some scaffolding in Minecraft. Thanks.

I've used things exactly like this in my server, but I'll change scale depending on the build that it is supposed to be part of; most of the time, the scaffolding is there for looks. As if to make the building look like it is being built or having renovations done to it.
