So It all Began

Ever since I started playing minecraft, I Have had many ideas into creating some animated shorts in 3ds max and me and another 3D artist from my school has written up ideas/scripts around about Mid 2010.

But we where boged down with school never really kicked it off but i Did manage to release an Alpha Rig that took me an hour to make here on Mod Db It was not textured and was at the level of version 0.5 but it did have much better bending joints than the Blender model which was out at the time.

From then on I've been working away in my free time Modeling all the items/things in minecraft ready to be animated with. so I can easy catch up the lost time when at school so i can start my project and push forward it in my free time.

I have not really used the minecraft forms, and decided that it might intrest others to see my progress. But I do know that there seems to be already another thread simlar to this but related to blender. and i am not trying to compete with anyone in fact me and my friend are doing this for our own enjoyment and its kinda became a small hobbie anyone else who is doing simlar things as me are a separate entity. This Would Be all my own work.

I support.

I'm Sure I'm not the only one who wants to see the models/textures shared at some point later in the project.

Will be waiting to see what you are creating.

This looks very impressive.

Is it doable to export it to another file-format so it's readable for Maya?

That is, if you are even planing on releasing it to the public.

Pretty nice job with the rigging and model.

I was thinking about doing the same type of bending in my animations, but I think I will stick with simple pureminecraft-animation style. I've got already a lot of enviro getting animated, so playing with rigs will get me even more work to do...

This could be usefull for specific dude-oriented anim which for sure need a better expressions and behaviours of main character :Diamond:

Kudos for you :Diamond:

Very cool. I think if there's going to be better walking for the minecraft characters, there should be more detailed characters. They're too blocky and ugly for them to be actually walking like you made them.

Awesome job :Notch:

Can you export the .max file as a .fbx file or the file format that allows it to work for Cinema 4D?

How do I skin it? Do I take skin it block by block or I can use the whole skin without any cutting and pasting.
