It was bound to happen.
And I'm glad it did.

Hmm . . . I'm not seeing the full-bright bug. The picture looks normal to me. At least, it looks like it does in the unmodified client.

look at the block i'm holding in these

Quick question, where do you put the files in the zip version?

There was even going to be a party for you. A big party. That all your friends were invited too. I invited your best friend the companion cube. Of course, he couldn't come because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either, because you don't have any other friends. Because of how unlikeable you are. It says so right here in your personal file: UNLIKEABLE, liked by no one, a bitter, unlikeable loner, who's passing shall not be mourned, SHALL NOT BE MOURNED. That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you were adopted, so thats funny too.

Hey, I too am having trouble with the zipped version of the mod. Using unmodified minecraft.jar, deleted the meta-inf, the replaced the class files. I get a black screen upon world generation, then minecraft stops responding. Windows 7 64 bit, and an ATI Radeon Mobile 5650 if that is my problem at all.

*sob* If you're going to do patchers, at least make sure the majority of people are catered to. If I was on some bizarre Linux distro I could understand, and I could even understand leaving Mac support until last; but leaving Windows out (which the majority of Minecraft users use) kind of spoils the fun.

But I was so desperate to use this mod, I installed cygwin (like Wine, only in reverse) and I will let people know if it fails.

EDIT: Cygwin was a failure. The .class files caused a blackscreen.
I can see why MrMessiah uses a patcher, because he has a variety of different mods the user can choose between and distributing 24 different copies of the .class files would be awkward.
I can also see why Xau uses a patcher -- he has many different options too.

I shall wait as patiently as possible for a windows patcher for a mod which looks this amazing.

The main problems are:
1: He uses a mac. Its only understandable that he creates a mac-only patcher.
2: I understand that it uses GLSL, which is OpenGL. Windows uses DirectX, not OpenGl (In my opinion OpenGL is better) and so it does not have much support for it.

If you don't like patchers . . .

Mojang runs these servers and the admins already explained why they don't pull the mods. The patchers are the result of an individual trying to sell something to Markus and getting shot down, pulling his mods on his own, and then trying to save face that he had found the path of purity.

The #2 priority of Mojang is to get a proper modding API out. After that the current mod methods will no longer be needed. Until then you can either make life for people harder or just do what the other modders do. I personally don't care since I already extracted your class changes and eagerly await the mod api.

Windows has OpenGL. Support comes from your graphics vendor.

As someone who had to do a ridiculous amount of witchcraft just to get mods to work on Mac OS X 10.5.8, I'm happy to see that the windows people now have to share in on Mac pain.

Come back when you are not so inappreciative and when you can write a good sentence.

Nice mod, things turn out pretty particularly with hi-res textures & betterlight + bettergrass.

FYI- I'm running under linux and all I had to do was make sure i had a jar utility (I installed fastjar via apt-get) and I also had to tweak the jar parameters in your primary install.sh so that the target files are . instead of ./

Just posting up a modified shader for this great mod. The goal of this modified shader is to make it a little more realistic by dynamically changing the DoF based on how far away your sights are aimed.

Just replace /mods/depthOfField/files/shaders/final.fsh with the included file prior to patching.

Hi daxnitro, thanks so much for this mod. But I must say azraeil's modification to your shader does look better and indeed better reflects how DOF works in reality. It would be great to see his addition included in your mod.

Cheers
