I really want this program but it does not work on Windows by any way I can find out. Java starts to run it but the program doesn't display. Task manager shows it running but there is no window at all. Haven't tried running any compatibility options yet. Might try that. Why can you not just make it a .jar so it would work on all OS?
Hmm still can not get this to work. I really want to be able to use this on my server for making rule books, etc.
Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Intel i7 960
RAM: 16GB
AMD Radeon HD 6800
IDK if you want more information or not.
Oh and Java version is 7.0

Well, because you asked nicely, I'll go ahead and post a stand-alone .jar :P. The only reason I didn't do that already is that it doesn't auto-update and I, myself, don't like going to forum pages to update applications. It'll be under the same download link, only it'll be a .zip with a stand-alone version and an auto-update version.

Thanks a lot! A lot of window users are going to be happier too. Sorry I don't own a mac lol.
YAY the stand alone works on windows but the auto updater doesn't. Until we can find out why I guess all windows users will have to use the stand alone. Thanks for adding a stand alone! :Diamond:s for you
I believe I have found a bug. So I made a book using revise then I saved it, later after I reopened it (after I closed the program) all the lines that I had pressed enter to skip and put a § had disappeared. Its kinda hard to explain, basically the lines that I had to seperate paragraphs had gone away and the words became one jumbled mess.

Ok, so I've recreated it and it seems to just be a problem with how Revise loads the .mcbook's. Shouldn't be hard to fix, I'll get on it right away.
Edit: Ok, it's fixed. Just had to add a newline character when loading. Took me about 5 seconds. Uploading the fixed one now.
Edit: One last thing, can you have it so when you save or load a mcbook it will remember the last file you were in instead of starting you at Documents each time?

I should be able to do that fairly easily, but I have to go eat now. So, I'll work on it when I get back.
1. It would be helpful to have an undo button under Edit, also including a keyboard shortcut (crtl+u)
2. Could you add an insert page function, so that way if I want to add something to the book near the beginning I dont have to move every page over one just to get it in.
3. Also making colors appear in the book as they do in game would help.
4. Could we have the option to have the book not-modded, so that way you cant exceed the amount of characters or lines per page, as well as pages. That way I can plan out my pages easier.
And thanks for such a great program, this saves so much time!
Edit: 5. Can you add support for different fonts that can be used in in-game books such as wide, or small caps?
I have a few more suggestions for you.

All great suggestions, but they will take some time. I'll start working on them soon.
Edit: Also, for the 2nd suggestion, you can just do this until I get it officially added in:
Save as a .mcbook
Open with text editor
Copy the Page∆ part onto a new line between the two pages you want to insert between

Poof! New page between the other two.
Thanks for the tip! Also be sure to let me know when you get the updates in. I'm gonna let more ripple know about this program, it's awesome!
Hey, someone should make a website where we can share all the books in ".mcbook" it would be awesome to have a place to share your in game stories and such. I know I would have like 1 finished and 3 W.I.P books posted.

If anyone did, it'd be amazing. However, I could if no one else will.
Edit: Well, I went ahead and started making it, but it may take a few days.
Update: Almost finished, another couple of days left. I'm trying my best to get it finished before school starts again, because then I'll have much less time to work on Revise.
Great looking piece of software you've made here! Well done indeed! I'm new to minecraft and this forum and forumning in general so I really hope I'm asking this is the right place! I hope this is not too silly a question....
I'm running a minecraft server for me and some buddies but our server is hosted externally by a hosting company. I have access to our world file via our control panel file manager thing (ftp I think) , and I was wondering if I can use revise and then somehow upload a book to the server?
Not a silly question at all. Basically, all you need to do is download the player file for the player you want to have the book. If you don't know, it's under world-folder/players/Player.dat. Then, export the book from Revise to the player file. After that, simply upload the player file back to the server. However, this will keep the same coords, health, etc. that you had when you downloaded the player file. Hope this helped.

But I have a suggestion tough.
Maybe adding a ''Copy Everything'' button to copy all that's on the book and put it somewhere else?
