We also follow a pretty common rule-of-thumb around the Internet:  Wanting to be a moderator is the surest way of never becoming one.

I was dragged into it kicking and screaming....the Admins can testify to that. :Pig:

The point is, don't try to earn anything by trying to be the best "moderator" you can be....that'll just earn everyone's ire.  Rather, just be the best member you can be, and let fate work out the details.

I dunno. It happens, like when you get a really cool video game for christmas when you didn't ask for it in the first place. Stuff happens, I say, go with it.

Well, to answer that question you should ask in the server administration section.

Well, to be honest you can also apply in the support thingy, but I dunno if that's still going on :3

I remember the moderator apps, but I can't remember what happened to them.
And for becoming a mod, just be a good member, as LightWarriorK has said.

(I would shorten LightWarriorK's name, but I don't know an appropriate one, I was thinking of Light or Warrior)

They just seemed to have...faded away.

Oh well, I didn't have my hopes very high anyway.  I get into arguments too much to be a good mod.

"LWK," that's how I do it. ;-)

The applications are still ongoing.  It's just not something that will be rushed through.

Being argumentative isn't a bad thing, it just needs to be tempered with patience and, in many cases, a heart of stone.  Be objective.  For example: viewtopic.php?f=1020&t=225629#p3234055. Everyone who posted "old" in that thread got a Warning, and many also received Bans.  I could have said a lot worse than what I did, about how can we expect the new users to behave when they see users with a few hundred posts acting like that, and could have blamed them for many of the woes we have around here....but that may not be true, so I just followed the Rules.  They were spamming, and that's all there was to it.

Thats usually where I fail.  Eventually I lose my patience and get angry.

Everyone gets angry
You just have to learn to wait a short while before acting on what made you mad

No use letting that silly anger get to you :D

Impossible. Everyone feels anger, its a natural brain function that can not be altered. Its what you do with that anger that counts

Oh, you should have seen me before I took my "keep it professional" stance on arguments.

people like me should get a chance, i am finding too many inapropriate/offensive posts to keep up with, and would enjoy if i could lock the topics myself, instaed of having to wait for a moderator to fix it for me.
