[REQ] Tool for getting flint from gravel
Posted 02 January 2011 - 01:12 AM
(sheep is "netting")
"Netting" would be constructed like this:
(spider is string)
I think this would be a more realistic and balanced way to convert gravel into flint.
And yeah I know this isn't the most exciting of threads, but it is about functionality, is it not?

Put it down, Break it, if it doesn't give you flint then try again because you get a block again.

First open up he BlockGravel search 10 == (0) or something near the drop section then change 10 to 1 and youll get a flint every 1 block of gravel u destroy. Btw say bye to the useless gravel

But yeah this would give another use of string and is kinda expensive to craft so it balances out. Good idea!

Just another idea for the sifter:
What if it had a different functionality altogether?
I say that it shouldn't be like the furnace or the crafting table, rather like a 'dropped item' converter. It should still be crafted with the sticks and string like before, only instead of putting your gravel into an item menu or whacking gravel with an oddly shaped tool, you place the item on the ground and toss your gravel into it from above by placing the block on top of it. Then, out pops your flint!
Of course, it would have to be rebalanced, and doesn't sound very easy to create.
OR (I hate this idea, but it's easier)
It can be exactly like the furnace, only the fuel has to be string (as it would break after repeated usage), and as of the moment it would only have one possible input and output.
