Hello. I am a fan of 16 x 16 texture packs, or otherwise simple ones. I want to start my own, but i'm confused about the 16 x 16 grid. I know what it means, but (dimensions of each block are 16 x 16) i do not know how to start it. I know how to open up the png files and such, but i g=just need general help. Thanks!

"General help" needs a wee bit further direction as it can be anything from wanting to know how to make images transparent to wanting to learn different drawing techniques.

The easiest way tends to be to just to modify the original.
Note that the top-left square is grass and the two squares below Mossy Cobblestone and Obsidian are leaves (Fancy on the left, Fast on the right.) They're grey because the grass/leaves colour spectrum is built into the game since Biomes were added.
