None :) I think the default texturepack for glass is just ugly (too many white lines). I choose iron bars and use them for all my windows etc.

If I had to choose between glass and panes - I prefere glass.

I like glass panes, personally. Glass blocks just don't work when making windows.

They both have their ups and downs...

For regular windows, like in a house, I use panes. If I'm making something like a viewport (for underwater structures, or chicken coops, or something like that), I'll use blocks.

Also, blocks are also brilliant if making glass bridges or towers.

...actually, created is a bit much.... Thought of. That's more accurate.

Maybe I'm just being 'old fashioned' but I still don't see a reason for glass panes being added.   I think its just that they don't look hardly any different from the regular glass block, because I like iron bars and use them quite a bit.

I think I would like glass panes more if they had a separate texture associated with them so that I could either add a window type frame to them or maybe make them look like stained glass.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.

I like the glass panes. They look nicer than blocks to me and add depth. I agree that they should add some sort of variation to them to make them completely different from the blocks, though.

It depends on what I'm making...
Glass roof - Glass
Windows - Panes
Domes for something - Glass
But overall, I like glass

I use both. Panes are great for windows, but you can't build domes are bridges out of them, as you can with the blocks.

I like glass more, because
A. When playing in Survival, it's less resource costly (I think) and
B. It fills the whole area you put it, and I don't like it when I have holes.
Also, I agree that panes need a separate texture, but they do server a purpose. For example, my friend once used it as railing for his floating house, because he hated fences.  And glass panes are more clear-looking.

Couldn't agree more with you here. I can't stand using glass in my buildings with those dumb white lines everywhere. Gotta use a texturepack for sure.

I prefer blocks simply because glass panes are a pain (you see what I did there) when you're placing them near doors, and I just don't like the fact that they're quite out of shape with out blocks and won't place the way you want them to sometimes.

Panes for windows and occasionally glass walls, but glass blocks for 3D glass structures.

No, it isn't butter, it is gold

Now that we have that sorted out, can you please leave, thanks?
