Why do old farts get to vote on how to control young people's domain?

We don't control their viagra or adult diaper freedoms, why do they control ours without understanding it?  They shouldn't even try.

I lol'd at this.

But anyway, this bill may not pass, but the problem is that these bills keep coming TOO FAST. Bill after bill, they keep getting shot down. But what's frightening is that they don't stop, and eventually they may pass.

I certainly hope not. So long as the big internet companies keep on opposing them, they shouldn't pass.

To be honest, these scared me at first. However, I've come to realize something: They can't control the internet. They can't. It'd be like trying to stop a forest fire with squirt guns. They can stop things here and there, but people will always find work arounds, and there are far more computer nerds than there are government techies. So try all they want, block whatever they want, people will find ways around it.

*Le sigh*

Well here we are again.
It's always such a pleasure.
Remember when we had to kill you thrice?
*Le rest of song that I can't be arsed to turn into a parody*

We did not invent the Algorithm. The Algorithm consistently finds Jesus. The Algorithm killed Jeeves. The Algorithm is banned in China. The Algorithm is from Jersey. The Algorithm constantly finds Jesus. This is not the Algorithm. This is Close.

This again?

Time for another blackout.

We'll need something bigger than a blackout.

Yeah, they'll always be some kind of loophole in those kind of things, passing a bill like that is saying "We have the right to view your privacy.", to be honest it's more like saying you can stop a riot with only one man.

Part of me wants a bill proposed by the internet that makes it Illegal for any government to create bills such as SOPA, PIPA, CISPA and the like.

Why do they bother?

So you want, basically, a constitutional amendment that bans the use of censorship?......

Hey, wait a second! There already is one!

Who comes up with this? Why do they keep trying to ruin the internet? This is so frustrating.

However, I'm not worried. This bill is going to die. I'm just so irritated. The bills keep getting worse. I shudder to think of what's next. Are they just going to eradicate the internet entirely?

These bills are coming out of nowhere too. We haven't even been complaining about the internet or anything, so why are they treating it like such a severe problem all of a sudden?

I would tell you about how awesome I am down here, but I have a feeling you probably already know that.

Nah, the odds of that happening are a hundred thousand to one, in other words, until they pass more ridiculous bills.
Besides, we're gonna be like cavemen because we have nothing to do and the internet keeps us occupied.
And there will be riots all over the world for that kind of bill to be passed,

All over the world? Only in the US most likely.
I'm going to be honest; many people outside the US probably don't give it a second thought.
Of course, UK citicens are twitching their thumbs because of the UK-US extradition treaty, which is to say the least, rediculous.

Although, I believe the chances of this bill passing are one in a million, I have to say, this bill makes sticking a fork in an electrical outlet sound smart.

I honestly don't think there's any way for these bills to work.
Even IF they passed, there would be such a huge outcry by the public against them that they will eventually have to do away with them.

Instead of viewing it as something that won't pass like the others, view it how you did the others before they past. If we die down not caring, they will pass as the governments will think we are fine with these updated versions.

I have no idea why a bunch of old farts who don't even know how to use a keyboard is debating about an issue that could change the fate of the internet and free speech.

All of these buttholes that support the bill are idiots.

I've had it...

THREE BILLS already!

I'll buy a domain name for going against CISPA if I need to!

Sure hope this thread gains popularity.
