I was trying to mine right down as fast as possible.
I piled up around 40-50 tnt blocks, lit and ran.

Not knowing the normal behaviour of tnt (i'm pretty new to minecraft) I was surprised and amused to see half my tnt blocks raining down from the sky and killing me.

I now like to do this with bigger and bigger piles of tnt and see if I can survive. :)

There is no way to get TNT in MCPE without an editor.  And, they do not function like TNT either.  There isnt even a fire block to light it with! (Fire Block or Flint&Steel)  If you somehow find a way, let me know, because as far as I know, there is no way to detonate TNT in Pocket Edition.

Yeah i was confused when they were talking about tnt blocks in mcpe. And its true that there is no fire block?

"how do you know?"

In mcpe, use the seed "nether". If you never seen lava, well theres lava for you. When you find the lava (its right near you spawn), i dare you to go into it. Ive done this and there is no fire block

Actually.I use TNT for helpful Purposes. As for,When Creating a Huge City in Survival Mode,I grabbed my TNT and just placed it 50x50,occupying the Space for my Huge City.Once Igniting/Detonating it,I finally have a Huge Flat Ground of Coal and Cobblestone.

If Anyone goes thinking there will be Fire in Minecraft Pocket Edition,There is Fire. However,When I played with fire before in a Snowy Area,The Fire does not project any Light Source but only melts the Ice Covering.

I have seen lava, and I know it can give damage to the player, but I dont think code exists for the TNt detonating.  They havent't even gotten sand physics yet!  It makes no sense.  Plus, if changes in time lag out an Ipod Touch(The New Model) what do you think TNT would do?  IT would most likley crash it.
PLUS, in the terrain.png, there is no animation like in the PC version for fire.

TNT does detonate. You mine at it once you've placed it and after a couple of seconds of smoking it explodes.

I think you could probably set it off with fire, but yeah, fire isn't animated and doesn't spread on wood and stuff.

I'm gonna go try now. :)

Yeah, fire sets the tnt off. :)

Strangley there is still no icon or animation for the fire but you can see it in your hand now.

Oh really?  I guess I was looking at an old image from an old version.  Sorry for speaking about a topic without proper knowledge.  Why hasn't it been implemented in game yet?

lol no worries, we're here to learn.

I think they're maybe holding it back till crafting updates. But maybe they're fixing possible bugs or something. water and lava will be more accessable if they bring in buckets too. :)

Personally I hope they add them in creative because I can't hex them in creative.

If you hold down on it, it triggers the detonation.

the easest way to get TNT in pocket edition is,
Go into the maps section of the forum
Search for a map called "bookshelves, tnt, lava, water"
Download the map.

use Androzip or equivalent app on your phone to unzip the file. (you can download androzip from the play store for free)
Move the unzipped file into Games/ com.mojang/ minescraft worlds, on your phones memory card.
open the folder (called "more stuff") and delete the chunks file.

Now find the map in the minecraft worlds folder you want to blow up with TNT.
open the folder,
move the chunks file into the bookshelve, tnt, lava, water folder (more stuff).

exit androzip

open minecraft

when you look through your worlds you will see one called HEX.

open the world and all your map will be there.

if it was a creative map, it will now be survival. So blow up what you need to blow up, fill up with water/lave etc till your heart is content.

when you want to change it back just move your chunks file from "More stuff" back into its original folder.
