@ShadowDrakken: You must have misunderstood something. CraftBukkit is not going to be an official server in anyway. The mod API is going to be implemented into the official minecraft server, which basically means, that CraftBukkit is most likely going to die *some* day.

How hard is it to just include Millenaire villages into the main game?  I realize they want to make it their own, but Millenaire is light years ahead of the current villagers.  It would save so much time, to include that and just improve the AI for that.

It was confirmed in another review that Jeb does not want to release 1.3 until the API is ready.

A mod API, so we can have mods correcting the AI and other buggers, that way we can wait the 6 months gap between useful official updates.

The way it sounded was that CraftBukkit and the official server were essentially going to become one in the same, which is effectively saying CraftBukkit will become the new official server as it makes more sense than to redo all the work that's already there. Right now, CraftBukkit is already more stable, less buggy and more extensible than the official server, why reinvent the wheel?

actually, ALL mods will run in smp.
the singleplayer will be changed into a local running server and you connect to that server.
they also plan to implement a feature that you can directly invite other ppl to your "singleplayer" world while playing
edit: somnia will still be only for one player and could be disabled when two or more players are on one world

because Millenaire sucks... well its not terrible but it has a completely different feel than minecraft...

a idea i have been thinking about for making modding a lot easyer is to have on the title screan mods and when clicked on has all the mods that are out on the minecraft forum that are up to date with the minecraft you are currently useing. and when you find a mod you want all you have to do it click on the name of the mod or have a download butten right next to it and have minecraft take it right from online

If there's anything that minecraft doesn't need, it's a closed-source api.

What would also be cool is Villagers actively building more houses and fortifications. Another thing that would be epic is cannon and turret blocks, and I'm not talking about those large but ugly TNT cannons that people manage to put together.
