TNT Cannon Science -- Revived!

I would like to make this thread as a hub for other Cannoneers to display and share their works for the advancement of Minecraft Cannon technology.
Now, I feel kinda bad that I cannot provide any decent information about a "Basic Minecraft Cannon" (you can YouTube it and literally pull thousands of results) as a First Post to softly introduce newbie Cannoneers to our projects.
So I will borrow a video made by YouTube user: Darkthero
to display how a Basic Minecraft Cannon works.

I happen to post my own Cannon videos on my YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.c...r/ZirumsHeroTWR
Where I create the Imperial Avenger Minecraft Cannon. So far, these are my videos related to TNT Cannons in Minecraft:

Does the timer in your cannons serve any purpose other than making them fire correctly with just one button push? I've been eschewing it entirely and using a two-button system to save space, but I wouldn't want to be missing out on something really significant.

Thanks! You should post pictures or videos of your cannon, I'd like to see 'em. Heck, I like seeing any unique cannon video.
But when I started my project, I -- of course -- was thinking lazily "wouldn't it be cool if I could shoot a cannon with one button?" So I started experimenting with delays. In the end, I realized there were definitely huge advantages.
While two buttons could significantly save space, you will have friction (higher TNT cost for distance), and Missile detonation will never be precise due to human error.
However, on my non-experimental models, the timer had the solid con of increasing arch upon launch. But could be taken advantage of with a big mountain in the way.
The timer has more advantages then one button. But the fact that it's one button really says a lot, too.

Well the numbers are placed like this:
The model number represents the Engine's overall structure.
Model 5 could only point west.
Model 6 finally could point in all directions.
Model 7 was taken by a nice fellow who found a way to add +2 to the engine without significant structure alterations.
Model 8 discarded the Model 7's upgrade because Model 7 effected many things. AND the "hole"/"sight" of the cannon was finally filled.
Model 9 removed the "wings" allowing it to save redstone, blocks, and space. Awesome.
X-Models are experimental Same-Plane cannons that use said model number (though experimental should be it's own series)
I don't even know if there'll be a Model 10.
There are only four major series of the Imperial Avenger.
A Series -- Automatic (with timer).
AX Series -- Adjustable Automatic (an extra add-on)
SP Series -- The officially unofficial series initials for Same-Plane cannons.
MinImperial Avenger (aka Mini-Avenger) -- cute, small, deadly.
The attempt number is basically an upgrade to the series in general (revolves around the timer room and whatnot).

it's fairly straightforward and simple, just your standard cannon but with guides on the side to act as sort of a barrel and with the projectile falling from a loop a couple of blocks up. this was the best way i found for ensuring the tnt projectile block goes exactly where i want it to when i activate it no matter which way the cannon is pointed.
it is not perfect, i would like to get it on a delay timer that way i know the timing of the drop of the tnt will be the exact same every time to avoid mishaps. i actually blew out the front of it after about a dozen test fires because i was pushing it on how long to wait to push the second button. the one button delay timer will fix this though. i just need to work out how i'm going to do the wiring, which ain't gonna happen today.
but, on the plus side it does have a good variable range. with the maximum nine tnt's loaded it will shoot about 150 meters and with as little as three tnt's it still goes 40 meters. i'm not sure how that stacks up in terms of efficiency, but i'm happy with it.
anyway, just thought i'd contribute my work in progress. hopefully others will too. cannons, while not very practical, are still fun to play around with.

Also, I'm working on a new megacannon:

The fountain thingie at the bottom, holds the projectiles. One quarter of the cannon holds around 250 booster TNT. Aimable in all directions. I originally planned to have no arc, but after finding about the loss of velocity from ground friction, there will be a SLIGHT arc (time in the air will be constant).

Same-Plane engines are virtually the same as standard engines. With a non-adjustable timer. And a few changes here and there. Such as the ignition system being 1 block away from the water. And Soul Sand is VERY important.

I was the guy who suggested using TNT Compression on your MinImperial Avenger.
Well so far I built this:

It's a 7T Compressor that can be used as canon. Well i'm trying to perfection it, and make smaller canons (in length)
It's currently only 3 in length + the wiring
There is one major bug that i cannot sort out, it only compresses one time. The second time you try to compress tnts, it will compress all except for the top one, which will get stuck.

Any suggestions?

That sounds like a reason I cannot argue with. Thanks!
Well from the looks of your picture, the top-most TNT has no guide in any way and will slightly jump towards the side. I'd recommend adding a guide rail on the left side. Meaning that you'll have 4 prongs on the left side and 3 prongs on the right.
Hope that makes sense. But if needed more elaboration, I can make a quick sketch or something.
