This sounds a marvellous utility, but I'm not at my own computer atm - anyone tried it?

Still stuck on the "Done Loading" Screen.

I copied the files from patches to patcher. Pressed patcher.batch. Opened minecraft. Stuck.

Ok, well run the Unpatcher, and then after its done, patch it again.

Sticks, retrieve them from your assholes. No need to break down planks to get them anymore, as you are all clearly full of them. Anal storage however is not the recommended method, that's why Notch created chests.

2 questions.

1. If I want to install mods, do I put the files in minecraft.bak.jar or minecraft.jar?
2. Will it auto-update if I try to play online?

I've been wondering this too, I've just been putting my mods in both but I haven't gotten any mods too work.

Re: 1. You put files in "minecraft.jar" - if there is "bak" in the name then it's a backup and it's probably the best to leave it alone.
Also, check if the mods you are trying to install since mods aren't cross-version compatible and installing mods meant for different version will kill your game without fail.
Re: 2. If you have the "version" file then it shouldn't, but I don't see why would you want to play on-line without updated Minecraft (and you don't have to log if you want to play single player game), unless you have a private server but I don't think that's the case.

And why do people ask that kind of questions all the time? Isn't there a guide how to install mods already (and many topics with exactly the same question being answered)? Are you people that effing lazy?

Here's the topic where you will be able to find informations about installing mods, read it please:

Some mods have requirements that are *required* for the mod to work - theses requirements include (but are not limited to): Risugami's mod loader, Better Light mod, Audio Mod, Mob Spawn List.
That means there are mods that won't work unless some of the mods I've listed are also installed.

Also, if "haven't gotten any mods to work" means "Minecraft crashes", then you simply didn't check the compatibility and will have to revert your files.
If anyone of you got hurt by a stray brick from one of my walls of text, please accept my honest apologies.

Thanks for the advice. I actually know how to install mods, it was just that a lot of them aren't updated for beta yet so I didn't want it ruining all my mods for me.

EDIT: I just went online and it didn't update. YEAH!

This is amazing. I would love to try this but when I copy the files from the patches directory into the patcher directoy, and run patcher.bat, it says the things then tells me to close it. So when I open Minecraft, it gets stuck on the Updating Minecraft screen. Yes, I tried offline mode.

Sorry I haven't been on to help, I've been sleeping, as well coding the python version still.
Ienzo, it sounds like the patched files aren't being created, perhaps you don't have administrative rights for it to to run bspatch.exe?
Raposa318, I think I know your problem. You most likely have the patcher on a separate hard drive from your application data. I forgot to check for this, and so, it looks on the current drive for application data.

So, let me get this straight: I can patch the current minecraft to as old as the last infdev?
If so, you have my download. :iapprove:
Here is a good way to describe a Ghast:
Imagine a creeper. Okay, now that creeper is white and flying.
Now this flying creeper can shoot more creepers that are on fire.
And all the while it sounds like it is being raped.

Damn Ghasts.

Hrmm...was your copy of 1.1_02 by chance modded? This requires 1.1_02 to be unmodded, before running the patcher.
