So, if I want to play on a world that I have downloaded, what do I have to do? Is there any renaming or moving involved? If someone could give me a guide, I would appreciate it.

assuming windows,

click start
go to run
type %appdata% hit return
open .minecraft
then open the save folder
here you will see world1 world2 etc etc

put your world into this folder needs to be called world1 or world2 etc etc

look at the other folders to ensure its all sorted right :P

if its ubuntu goto your home folder
click view and tick show hidden folders
you should see .minecraft
from there follow the above instructions

Go Into your minecraft folder which is ''.minecraft'' after pressing The Windows Key+R and writing ''%appdata''. In the folder there is something called saves. If you put a world that works which you have downloaded from somewhere else in it and renames it to ''World1'' World2'' or any of the others it should work.
