Tired of hunting wolves in a biome that you know they spawn in?
Build this contraption and the wolves do all the work!
I know that this is simple and not a redstone masterpiece, it is just an interesting way to use redstone and a wolf's need for sheep flesh.
This contraption uses an idea by sethbling for smp minecart storage:

Not a redstone master piece, but who cares? This is ORIGINAL and USEFUL and that's what matters the most!

will they teleport to u?
Nope, i was just using mob eggs to spawn the wolves. This is just meant to be built in a biome where wolves spawn in the hopes that they'll come near the contraption and try to attack the sheep then get stuck in the minecart

If it were built in the jungle and instead of sheep there were chickens, then it should work on ocelots!

Indeed this is simpler, though mobs eventually exit minecarts on their own and always do so when you exit and re-enter the game, so if they are stored in a room after they enter the minecarts you can be sure not to lose them.

I just checked and the wolves are still in the minecarts. In my version, the carts are always pushing each other. In other words, they're always moving which causes the wolves to not get out even when I exit and re-enter the game.
pretty nice idea storing them in a room though :3

And btw I just tried and it works with ocelots and chickens, though ocelots don't attack as often as wolfs and you definitely need to store them into a room or they will run away as soon as you try to befriend them.
Edit here are some pics of your design with a simple storage room on the side XD nothing special.

I was thinking the exact same thing earlier today!

Way more compact than mine but when i was first making my design, the wolves were able to attack through the minecart when they were that close to the sheep. IDK if thats a bug on my side or something though
